I wish you were right...but no, I have to work today. I had a 1/2 day off yesterday afternoon...so that is why you may be confused.

I re-watched Watchmen yesterday on the big screen....of course it looked and sounded great, but I still can't say I am a fan of that movie.....just not sure why?

Well at least you did get some time off, somewhere. So much going on this week and when I'm not well my memory is horrible.Sorry it wasn't today you were off.But at least you have a 4 day work week to look forward to next week.

"Watchmen" is just one of those Movies. You can hate it,Love it,or just stomach it.

Its probably the most different type of "SuperHero" movie made. First you have to understand and get used to the "Alternate World" they are living in.So that makes things kind of difficult,on its own. But it is more about the charecters themselves instead of any "SuperHero" Actions they perform.

Personally I liked the Theater Version Better. Its 20 minutes or more shorter then the Blu-Ray version. And perhaps seeing it the first time at the Theater may have helped my feelings towards this movie.

It has a good beginning, very slow and somewhat boring mid section, and then picks back up pretty good with the Prison Scenes. From the Prison Scenes thru the ending the Movie is pretty good(in my opinion).

Its just odd thinking the Bad Guy(who used to be a Good Guy)Was really a Good Guy in killing Millions of People in Major Cities Around the World. All so the rest of the World would save itself by not commiting Nuclear Holocaust.

So I dont know of any "SuperHero" or many if any other type of movies where the Villian Kills Millions but his Actions were for the Best of the Billions still remaining.

Its just a unique movie,to say the least.I Like it and have seen it 3 times this year(counting the Theater). But its not a movie I would watch over a couple of times a year.

But I think its popular because its just so different. It may be the first film of its type. And it also seems to create a new type of film genre.

And thats the Best I know how to even try and explain it.

BTW - I posted in Your thread the other day a question about a maybe seeing if you had the room for a 2nd PSW-10 Sub (opposite corner of side wall maybe?), though I Know you're room is Limited space-wise for any additional footprint items such as this. I also know you want to buy in the hopefully not Too distant future, an Upgraded Sub, like an AA HD-10 or 12, or a PA-120 like I have; as well as maybe another brand or two that i'm sure you'll look into for ideas & prices. IF you want a Temporary solution until you can find the UPgraded Sub in a few months time, I do have my PSW-10 sitting in the POLK box that might balance out nicely in your room with your current one. All I'd ask is you pick up the Shipping costs, nothing else. IF I sold it, I might get $50-75. MIGHT, that is... --- It is in Perfect condition cosmetically & it isn't too old from when I upgraded to my PA Sub. Just an idea my friend.

Lol - you 2 are funny -- it's no big deal really; it's just in the box in my basement (OFF the ground of course ), & I'd rather send it to him for shipping costs vice trying to sell it Again on Craigs (or Ebay), or wherever. I just hope he can find a Spot for it, as we know in his 10x10 room, Space is Very limited! Though, he could make like "CrazyBLUE", & do a Stacking deal with some type of DIY in-between Riser.

(PS - PATTON, THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, FIGHT CLUB, & one of my ALL-TIME Favorite Movies EVER, "ALMOST FAMOUS", came in today. Time to upgrade my Collection info!)

But the way these brackets are made I can add an extension to each bracket,on the end.So I can handle a screen up to 6 inches wider with the brackets I have now.

And if that wont do the job for the second screen,I have another solution to use.I can mount another set of brackets to the set up and mount the second screen to that set of brackets.
I will make sure one screen is far enough forward of the other screen to be able to be extended and not come into contact with first screen case.

So we gave that some thought before the last plans were finalized.
So Thanks for the Heads Up and the Kind Congratulations.
Tas,

That's perfect! As I said, I was sure you had thought about it buddy!

Fors - not a fan of the watchmen?

I read the graphic novel before I watched the movie. I've always heard of it, but never did check it out till this year. A great read, several parts of the movie were just like the graphic novel. A great adaptation. I'm looking forward to seeing Tales from the Black Freighter weaved into the movie with the ultimate cut (shipping to me soon!).

For anyone who is into graphic novels, check it out. I'm a big fan of the Sandman series, one could only hope that gets the movie treatment.

Default 4th "Underworld" news

Hey Todd,
Thought you might like to know the latest news on the 4th "UNDERWORLD" movie. Nothing major, just a writer has been hired it seems, though he did write for FX's "The Shield" - a Great show IMO.

Great news! Though I hope this is just b/c there is no script.

Are you guys buying any movies between now and Black Friday?

There aren't a lot I'm wanting, but I am hoping Amazon will have good deals. Some blind buys could happen if prices drop enough. Renting in Taiwan stinks. Still haven't seen Midnight Express, or Ghandi.

A Stupid Question:
Does having 2 subs make a real difference?

I've got to watch Rise of the Lycans. I may be in the minority, but I didn't care so much for the first movie. I really liked Evolution. I've read mixed reviews about the 3rd, so I may rent it first.

You should ahcieve more even bass response with 2 subs.

Here is Big Daddy's sticky on the subject....it's in the middle of the post.

I'm getting Angels and Demons. Ichi the Killer would be nice also if it ever sticks to a date.

2 subs makes a difference, but not as much as going from no sub to 1 sub. It's main purpose is to even out the entire room with smooth bass.

Well my Friends.I have Finally Got My Screen Mounted and On the Wall.

It has been either 7 or 8 weeks since The Projector Big Daddy was So Kind,as to Sell Me,Arrived. Then I had to wait for November's Check to Pay for An Elite Screens Manual 84 Inch Diagonal Screen.

It finally arrived and I got sick the day after the Screen Made it Here. So,now that I am doing much better Physically from the Fatigue and Exhaustion,I Have Been Suffering With.

Today the Screen is Finally Mounted on the Wall with the Black Sheet Behind it.I have a Curtain Rod and Black Curtains to go on the Wall behind the Screen, but(as I Found out Yesterday,I bought the Wrong Size Curtains). So until I get the Right Sized Curtains, the Black Sheet I have Attached to the Wall allows for me to have a Solid Black Area Around Each Side of the Screen.(Which will help provide better On Screen Black Levels and Deeper,Darker Contrast Levels).

So I have Placed my Front and Center Speakers back in position. So I am completely too tired now to do anymore today.

So tomorrow,I will hook up my Dads Spare 26inch LCD TV to my Yamaha AVR and run the YPAO routine to re-set all my Speaker Levels, since I had to take the Front two speakers and the Center speaker out of the room to hang the screen.

And with the screen in place my speakers are in a slightly different position,so I need to reset the Speaker Levels so I get the Optimal Audio Performance from my Home Theater.

And let me issue a Huge Thank You to Everyone that has Helped Me in my Quest to get the Screen Finally Ready for Use.

Thanks to Vega for the Dual Screen Idea I will be using. So I have a screen for use with the two most common Aspect Ratios a Movie is Displayed In.(Thanks to Forsberg, brokenthumb, and crazyBlue, for Answering Countless Questions Conserning Mounting Their Screens)(And a BIG Thanks to my Dad for Providing Loads of Wisdom in Suggesting A Great Idea On How to Get Super Strength To my Mounting Brackets,so they will easily hold 2 Screens when that time arises. And For Helping me thru every step of the actual Physical Installation)

So,I will Shut-Up and Quit Being So Long Winded, and Finally Post Some Pics.
