If it is €599 then it should be $600-650 in the US, $900 sounds too much, carriers wouldn't be fighting over this if it was that much, even the original iPhone was $700 unsubbed. |

![]() My work just moved us all from Verizon RAZR to iPhone 3G (we had the option to buy into 3GS if we wanted to pay the upgrade fee ourselves, but only one guy did it). I vastly prefer my N97 but the 3G is definitely nice to have for certain things. |

Right, got some clear info on the pricing plans.
USA unlocked/sim-free - $799 UK unlocked/sim-free - £499 EU unlocked/sim-free - €599 Subsidised pricing is £99 on a 2 year subscription with Vodafone at £35/m and free on anything above. £199 on £25/m. US isn't set and EU pricing should be similar to the UK. Oh and there is an updated software build coming soon as well which should speed everything up even further, and they are adding a new browser of sorts to compliment the stock Android browser. The only problem now is the keyboard, it is said to be quite unresponsive, but the feedback is there and they are working on it and the predictive dictionary. Hi.
So, I got an hTC Imagio recently, and it's the first smart phone I've ever had (my last phone was the Samsung SCH-A930, which I had for four years). I was a little miffed about Droid coming out almost immediately afterward, but I do like that I have MS Office Mobile on my phone, included. Anyway, I have a few apps for IM clients (Palringo), Google Maps, AP Reader, Midomi (song identifier), and a couple of other apps. Is there anything else anyone would recommend? |

If SE had waited until the beginning of Jan, said it would come at the end of the month in select markets and done a soft launch in the UK and Sweden to meet fiscal and investor guidelines with a full launch in Feb it would have had a lot more buzz than this. None of the negative headlines about slowness or outdatedness or how expensive etc... I had a preview of the newest software build at the match this afternoon and it was blistering, my friend said the UX platform is nearly ready for Android 2.0 and MT, but SE are putting the 'finishing touches' to it and testing it on a new device. He said to keep my eyes open at MWC because a SE Android 2.0 device will be on show which will be competitive with Moto Droid and comes with a pullout QWERTY board so it won't eat into X10 sales. |

Hey guys,
I've had a cellphone since when they were the size of a brick and I loved it. I made calls and I received them...simple. I still only use my iPhone 3G for calls and maybe the odd text message, but I've been thinking about email access while on the road. I use MSN and Apple doesn't support it. Is there a FREE (I'm not willing to pay for it, as it's not crucial) program I can download that lets me check my MSN emails? Someone told me about PalRingo, but that is for IM's....I don't do IM on my phone. John |

![]() Just kidding. Anyhow, within the last few months, MS opened up the pop servers to all MSN and Hotmail accounts, not just the premium ones. So unless you've tried it recently, I think you should be able to set up your email on your phone now (through the standard email/mailbox setup thing). To give it a try, use the regular email account setup, and when it shows you a list of options (Gmail, Yahoo, etc) select "Other" and then fill in all the details (user name, password, etc). For servers use pop3.live.com for incoming, and smtp.live.com for outgoing. For the SMTP, use either port 25 or 587. And make sure Authentication and TLS/SSL Required both say "Yes". If that doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas. |

i was going against everything by buying a phone with no keyboard..now you might have me waiting even longer for a new phone mwc is feb 15-18, probably before the x10 even releases here. hmm. might even buy the x10, then sell it and pay for price for the keyboard edition ![]() |

So news in today.
Google have backported turn-by-turn navigation of Google Maps into Android 1.6, updates will go out to current owners over the air while new devices will ship with the update. Woo! Looks like the best feature of 2.0 is coming to 1.6, X10 owners don't need to miss out in the early stages pre-update. Even the og G1 is getting the update! |
