Porn industry is begging for time on the blu-ray lines to put out flicks. They need the space for those 3-4 hour romps. They make a lot of films and will be sticking to mpeg2, so blu-ray is where its at to them. They also realise in the next 2-3 years, theres going to be 20+ million ps3s in homes, along with stand alones, and those are all potential customers.

There will be 10 million Xbox360 by years end. There will be 15 Million by summer 2007.

Folks it's nice to support your platform of choice but highlighting the same advantages the competition has does little ..no?

I've just noticed that the couple of adult film contacts on AVS have both stated that there may be issues with making films in BD. We'll see how things play out.

Speaking more specifically on the Xbox 360, Microsoft announced that since its launch in November of last year, 6 Million Xbox 360’s have been sold to date. Add this with a full 160 game portfolio for the console by the end of the calendar year and continued record numbers in terms of software and peripherals attach rate in the US, you’ve got Microsoft estimating 4 Million more consoles to be sold by the end of the calendar year (totaling 10 Million) and a 13-15 Million Xbox 360 install base by the end of their fiscal year ending in June.

I'm not trolling i'm just correcting the slop on these. Like I've said I've been in technical positions where you can't be wrong with clients because you're talking about 6 figure deals. When I see people on here that can't get the basics right it's distressing to me. Be a fan....be a fanboy but at least be able to backup your statements with supporting data at least %60 of the time.

Microsoft is "estimating" (re: Hoping/wishing) that they sell that number of 360's. Maybe they will. Maybe they won't.

But that doesn't mean it's concrete fact in the here and now like you tried to pass off.

It's certainly not guaranteed for them, by any means.

Was my post not in response to a poster claiming 20 million PS3 sales by end of 2007? I didn't attack his message because it is plausible that Sony "does" ship 20 million PS3 by next year

MS is extremely short of pace for their target of 10 million units by PS3's launch. Of course rabid HD-DVD fanboys prefer to look at here and now only.
