A few more films I'd recommend would be The Infernal Affairs Trilogy, Red Cliff 1+2, and Exiled. These are Hong Kong films, the first being the trilogy off which The Departed was based, the second being an epic war film about one of the defining battles in Chinese History and perhaps it's best selling novel, and the third is a shoot-em-up film with fantastic gun fights and a great audio track.

One film that I really like which didn't get much attention in the US, despite being in English and having headliners like Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman, is Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. Unfortunately the German BD is fairly expensive.

Infernal Affairs looks great, but I would rather wait for a US release. I saw Perfume in the theater, I thought that it was pretty good.
