Grain happens like it or not. Like noise in digital cameras. You just have to deal with it sometimes. I'd rather have a sharp grainy picture over a soft touched up one.

No kidding. I'm a grain lover, I only want to spread the word before the misinformed start talking louder than us...

People have the misconception that we like grain because it's there for effect when in reality we like it because it preserves all the true aspects of the film.

I can't wait for Hurt Locker to hit Blu. I need to pick it up. I can imagine it will really work some home theater systems.

Kathryn Bigelow is a very underrated director IMO. Point Break & The Hurt Locker are easily two of my favorite action adventure films.

Totally agree with this. Most of her films I have seen and loved, but I still did not know who she was and what films she had made before this thread.

agree with both of you. I think it's sad that she's not more well known. I wonder if the fact that she's done less than a movie a year is why her films seem to be better. Since 2000 she's done about five or six films, and everyone of them that I've seen I've really liked.

Weight of Water was a bit more of a drama piece than action, but I mean any director that has movies like Blue Steel, Point Break, Strange Days and Hurt Locker (from everything I've heard) has to be doing something right.

The only film I've seen of hers is 'Hurt Locker', but that was a pretty dang good one.

There's no way she's 58?? She looks amazing. What was Cameron thinking??

I'm going to have to import Strange Days from Germany. Looks very good and I never saw it when it originally came out back in '95
