The trailer was probably the funniest parts of the movie and I didn't really laugh at that trailer.

You're the second person I hear this from. A friend saw it last night and said the same thing.

The trailer just looked like another copy of a ben stiller movie doing the same thing he's done 100 other times. It didn't make me laugh, and the movie looks terrible.

I do not wish ill on anyone but I will be glad when his 'popularity' runs it's course. His acting prowess is only surpassed by Steven Segal.

I always found it silly when the format war creeps into movie watching in theatres. People announcing with glee how a certain film did poorly. I had a big fight with an AV$er over this when he was lambasting a BD studio's title.

Just watch the movie's folks, geez.

After Paramount's abominable action on August 20, I think most here are quite happy to see bad things come their way.

This just in from the "No Sh!t" Department.

A DreamWorks spokesman said the studio was "certainly very disappointed" with the opening, adding that harsh critical reviews hurt business.
What do you mean that people don't want to pay $10 a ticket from a movie that is supposed to suck?

For all you fense riders out there, PICK A SIDE! If you don't, the war will continue then nobody will win and the traditionalist movie fans that like to accually buy their movies instead of burning or bootlegging their movies and have them in hand, will have to download them from microsoft or someone else. I prefer you buy BD but if you want "the other" that is regetible but atleast you picked a side. Stop being so wishy washy about it and buy something, eather or. Seeing the posts on this thread it concerns me that we are spending more time griping about it then doing something make the studios that made the choice to go to HDDVD pay for their mistake every step. If you love BD pick up a weapon (or in this case a Blu-ray) AND FIGHT! Personally i am tired of seeing both formats see-saw back and forth, i love BD and will be here success or failure, but we need a break out from this routine. Who's with me!

Not all. I care more about movies than the format war. I'll hate on a movie because it sucks, not because it comes from a HD-DVD supporting studio.

My boycott of Paramount is limited to not buying their HD-DVDs. But I'll be there day one when Sweeney Todd comes out, because I find bringing the format war spite elsewhere kind of silly.

When NORBIT is considered one of your big hits, it's time to look in the mirror and evaluate yourself.

The trailer looked funny, but it also had the makings of a letdown movie.

They said harsh criticism hurt business. Yeah, making a low-level movie will do that.

Yeah, I did not know Norbit was made by DreamWorks. The family rented the movie from Comcas OnDemand a while back. I could not watch it at all. The parts I did watch were unbearable. THe movie was crap crap crap. Eddie Murphy needs to find a REAL character to play and not these constant 50+ characters.

Anyway, the movie was shit. Most movies lately are crap.

Let people spend their money how they want. If somebody wants to support both formats, then great. I personally won't spend my money on a format that can't give me the best picture and sound. I won't spend my money on a format that delivers crappy releases. I won't spend my money on an unflexible format that can't grown with new technologies. I won't spend my money on a format that has limited possibilities in other areas like PC and software and personal video. If somebody else wants to spend money on both formats, then great.

This format war is not a horse race. This format war is a debate between the pros and cons of two different technologies. Support the technology, discuss the technology, enjoy the technology, just get off of the sales numbers and Nelson Rankings. This war will not be decided by the consumer buying discs. This war will be over when manufacturers realize the limitations of HD DVD. This war will be over when studios start to care about picture quality and sound quality and realize that HD DVD is far from perfect.

If somebody wants to spend money on both formats, great. I know I won't be.
