That is pretty normal, they love to use Hollywood stars for their commercial, happen a lot more then you might think. Also they have weird or strange commercial to our eyes but they are rather normal for them. I guess they work over there. I once saw a razor commercial with Harrison Ford in Japanese in the 80's.
