Up this way I can say that I have NEVER seen an HD-DVD player or the media to go along with it.

Mine carried the RCA back in 06, they sat up on their top stock til they eventually did something with them, (Probably sold at a loss) They were never displayed.

We never got the bdps300, or the philips, or anything else.

The RCA's were a joke, only got 4 in our store last year and all but one came back with loading/freezing issues. I would assume the last one was simply returned at another store.

There's a Supercenter opening about a mile from me in about 2 weeks, making it possibly the closest Wal-Mart to the incorporated city with the highest per capita income in the state (I don't think they'll allow something so gauche within the city limits). I'll be very interested to see what they have in stock on opening day in the way of HDM.

My apologies for stumbling into this thread late...

The local Walmart Super Center near UCF used to have an awesome Blu-Ray/HD-DUD display that had a lot of new and catalog titles, but all of a sudden the stock was partially moved to a regular aisle shelf-space and then all HD-DVDs and Blu-Rays disappeared. I ask the clerks about it every time I'm in and they always say, "They'll be back. The managers are just trying to figure out where they're going to put it." It's been months now and I suspect that time will be never.
