yeah, i guess alvin and the chipmunks was such a good movie that it deserved a sqeekqual or what ever the flying @$%!&&%#^$!@ it is. sometimes i dont get whats going on through the minds of those that approve movies.

Even if it's different from the original, it's a pretty awesome film.

Yeah, first thought was, "Are we STILL discussing this?? Thought we already had the article a month or two after fans first tried to 'figure it out', in which Tim and his writer publicly admitted they just made the darn thing up at the last minute, because they needed a 'stinger' to top the original (which they claimed they 'weren't remaking' in the first place)."

Admittedly, it wasn't a "joke on fans" when David Lynch publicly admitted he didn't care who killed Laura Palmer, and was just making up Twin Peaks as he went along...
In Tim's case, though, you DID feel sorry for the poor fan-geek saps who were spending so much of their spare time, energy, and limited discussion powers on something that just wasn't there.

I didn't really care for this movie at all. I'm a huge fan of the original & have read the book several times.
I was really jacked up to see this when it came out as it was originally pitched as being much closer to the book than the original film, it wasn't. The ending is based on the end of the book though.

Didn't like it either. I've enjoyed Mark Wahlberg in other roles but I thought he was miscast in this one. Burton should have tried to go back and remake it as it was originally written which would have been more interesting.

The producers of the original film intended to but they didn't have the budget for it. It turned out great anyway and those sets were amazing and original.

Hm, can't wait to see what "Alice" will turn out like next year though.
Should be pretty great with his twisted style and everything.
