United Kingdom Cars UK Release ?

I preordered Cars [Blu-ray] on Amazon.co.uk (release date 1st Oct) it's now 1st Oct, my order isn't moving and it's changed to being:

Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

What's up with that? Did Amazon screw up the release date or something? Typical of them. Great e-tailer but they don't do release dates right.

I don't know, but was just wondering yesterday if Disney would wait and release this at the same time as Ratatouille in Europe. That one just opened in Germany and doesn't open in the UK until this week, so I figure a much later Blu-ray release.

Question Cars UK Release ?

I'm confused, the UK release date for Cars acording to Amazon.co.uk was 1st Oct. When the date came they switched it to "unavailable".

HMV.co.uk also recons it's 1st Oct.

virginmegastores.co.uk lists the release date at 8th Oct which was yesterday but it's still on pre-order.

Default Cars UK Release - What's the problem?

Hi all,

Well Australia isn't getting 'Cars' until January 18!!! Twisted if you ask me. Better late than never I guess.

The UK Release Is The 8th Of October But I Think It Has Changed Because The US Release Date Is Not Until November 6th.

Not sure where it is, but there was a thread a while back stating that Cars was pulled and a new date was/would be set.

Sorry, I am spreading fud. It was another title I was thinking of.

Cars is scheduled for a November 8th release here in the US. I am unsure if it's the same for you brits (or anywhere else for that matter).

My apologies!

Buena Vista UK (and release info inthe UK in general) is famous for it's elusiveness, at least from the posts an UK friend is always e-mailing me about. And with the post strike, things might get drier than the oil crisis of the 70's for some

Something really odd has gone on here. I had Cars in my lovefilm queue, where it starts off in a "reserved" list prior to release. It had moved into my rental list, which I believe normally only happens when they actually have the discs. The reason I believe this to be the case is that Next, which was delayed by a few days at all retailers as far as I could tell, was also delayed moving from the "reserved" list to the normal rental list. However, now, after having been in my rental list, Cars has moved back to the reserved list, with a release date TBC. The only thing that would explain all this is if they actually received the discs but were then told to withdraw it for some reason.
