Ok someone started a thread like this for the year 1989 which was a cool idea. I want to start with the beginning of the 80's and either daily or whatever work our way up to current! Ill start this off with my choices:

1. The Shining
2. Friday the 13th
3. The Gods Must Be Crazy
4. Stir Crazy
5. Dressed to Kill
6. The Blue Lagoon
7. The Fog
8. Midnight Madness
9. The Elephant Man
10. Prom Night

Yay we actually agree on 2 movies elvis! We arent that far off!

By the way did u see The Gods Must Be Crazy? And if so u didnt like it? I love that movie but I havnt seen the sequel! Thats a funny movie in a different way! Got Em!!

IMO '81 and '82 were better years, but for 1980:

Breaker Morant
Ordinary People
The Empire Strikes Back
The Blues Brothers
Caddyshack
Stir Crazy
The Gods Must Be Crazy
Nine to Five
The Shining
Used Cars

What database are you using to sort by date? I had to go through my Netflix rating history.

EDIT: I forgot all about Stir Crazy. It just bumped Gloria. What a great movie. Pryor and Wilder (in that movie anyway) were the best comedy pairing since Laurel and Hardy.

No "Empire Strikes Back"? By far the best of the year. Best comedy that year was "Airplane".

This was 1981! It was released in the US June 19th 1981! Trust me this wouldve been at the top of my list if it was released in 1980! Got Em!!

I actually do my movies from the head also but then I double check after to make sure I didnt miss a good one that should be on my list! Got Em!!

Also it says this one wasnt released in the US until 1983 haha! I think it was released in another country also in 1980. So lets make a rule to go by the release date of the US! To make it easier and so well have movies that qualify for the same year released domestically! Got Em!!
