Search Canon xl1 PAL and you'll find the video camera it was shot with.

The lack of resolution was not intentional, 24p high definition video cameras were more expensive then (varicam,f900 etc) so this was the best option they could afford.

300 had fake film grain added to make it look like the movie was actually shot on film...when in fact it was shot wiith high def video cameras with a green screen.

I'm talking about the second...
