Actually, I remember rumors going around that had it set to come out close to launch (or within a year after). You have to admit, GT5 is the Duke Nukem Forever/Starcraft Ghost for the PS3 (except it's actually coming out). It just keeps on getting pushed back. Personally, I don't mind, but I could see some people getting antsy.

To avoid disappointment, take rumours with a huge pinch of salt? And ignore the blatant lies..

Close to launch PD release GTHD. They showed clear ambition to go far beyond that test for GT5.

True, it was just speculation, but there was lots of it to my recollection.

I don't care how long I have to wait, GT5 will be amazing. The scope of this game is ridiculous.

I am just stating the delays are getting to the point of ridiculous. I am going to say it now, the biggest blow to the PS3 was never having GT5 released in a reasonable time frame.

I believe you caused your own misery. In 2008, Yamauchi said to pick up GT5:P because GT5 probably wouldn't show up 'til 2010. Apparently, you thought he was kidding. That sounds like your fault.

Gah, tried it last night, dusted off my G25 and it didn't work. I've had to send off for a replacement which will take 4-6 weeks.

I've tried the demo, and the car physic is awesome, but the track is not very impressive... the trees are still 2 2D "paper sheet" brick togheter... I was very disapointed.
