Not sure if I completely understand the question, but I'll go with the UK version of "Gone With The Wind", simply because it allows you to get both Blu-ray Discs (the movie and all the extras) in a regular sized case with quality artwork...unfortunately, this is impossible to do in the USA, as you either have to pay for the big UCE box with all the added trinkets and extraneous junk (and still not get a regular blue plastic case), or settle for the Target exclusive one-disc movie only release....

I've heard the "Zulu" UK region free blu-ray is excellent. I might eventually pick it up myself being a fan of the film.

The Island is pretty good. I have no idea why it has not been released in the U.S. yet.

A few that come to mind are:

UK version of The Goonies - great video transfer and audio.

UK Battlestar Galactica Tin Boxset - better packaging than the US in my opinion, and cheaper price as well.

German import of Within Temptation: Black Symphony. Not only a fantastic band, but an amazing demo disc for any sound system.

Almost Famous is a great one. However, since the blu-ray version is the extended edition, it's a little long of a movie for me. From what I remember it cost quite a bit to import it over. I would be willing to let it go for $20 shipped inside the US, via paypal, if anyone is interested. Region free, good condition, no scratches on disc. PM me.

90% of the Hong Kong Blu-rays (all region free) have been reviewed highly and all the ones I own have been amazing! Of course you have some amazing UK, France, Japan, South Korea, and Canada all region blu-rays to choose from also. Then again, it all comes down to the tastes of the viewer.

The Thing is a great import too... same transfer as the US version but has the complete "Terror Takes Shape" documentary that was chopped up and used only partially for the crappy U-Control feature on the US disc

Unfortunately, its only 1080i, not full 1080p, AND its not in OAR. I'll wait for a proper release.

And it's Region A locked, so doesn't exactly qualify...

Excellent choices...... I thought "Man On Wire" was excellent, but not sure how many times I would watch it........ I actually haven't seen it on Blu-ray, just DVD, but the other two I would agree with and highly recommend.

The two in Bold are "Must Owns" but I haven't seen Bound, North Face, or Flame and Citronen..... the others are great, but haven't seen the Blu-rays of them, but thing they're great films..... so if you're a fan, and don't have them.... your decision should be easy! I enjoy them, but the DVDs suffice since I can't find time to watch everything

I can vouch for it because I have both versions.

But...

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1012379

The UK has no DNR and a much higher bitrate, but the US has 7.1 DTS-MA. So...
