David Attenborough is the Planet Earth. As one of the Earth's foremost Naturalists, he is uniquely qualified to narrate this great series. Does anybody remember the widely acclaimed "Life on Earth" series that he did years ago?

That being said, its on to the technical....

The transfer is generally good IMO. Planet Earth suffers badly from noise in some scenes (as was mentioned earlier), as well as from notable and repetitive posterization effects. Audio is nothing to write home about either. Still, Those Incredible Vistas, when properly shown, are absolutely mind blowing. My copy just arrived and we got through the first 2 episodes last night. Great family film; my 5 & 3 year olds were glued to the screen. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!
