Haha...thanks hamp. I like gates setup better also. I would have seating like his if I had room. It looks a lot more comfortable than those leather berkline recliners. I'd also like to take his projector and subs off his hands.

I agree. If I had more room I'd do seating like yours. Not really an envy thing. I like what I've done. I look at before/after pics and amazed what I've done in a short time. Christmas bonus was good...amp orderering tonight.

It's something I do look forward to, It's just when I find a house I can start to do something.

I have decided on the subs and they will be two SVS PB-12 Plus. I didn't know if I was going to get the PB-13 Ultra or not, but I like having two subs.

I have beeb waiting and hoping that SVS would have some type of Christmas sale or something before I order. I haven't been in a real rush since I won't be using them right away.

Here's a good read on speaker wire and their hype. I can't remember who I had a conversation with on this forum that told me there was a huge difference in wire, and I said no (except gauge and lenght), but here it is... http://forums.audioholics.com/forums...2&postcount=28

Some will hear differences and some won't. To get there you have to spend a ton of money and that is only for the trained ear (which I'm hardly at that point). This will always be open to huge debate because not everyone hears things the same as others would. You could have 2 people listen to identical setups and one might think it sounds great and the other one thinking it doesn't. You could easily spend thousands for a minimal upgrade in sound and there are those with that upgrade might not even hear a difference (then there is a placebo effect thinking you get this improvement...your brain might tell you that you actually are when in reality you aren't...but thats a whole different arguement in itself). Length and gauge can have an impact...everything else is up to the particular listener/person and whether it makes a difference or not.

Copper is copper my friend. The only thing that affects signal is lenght and the gauge you use. If you're talking 10 feet you won't have an audible difference from 12 gauge to 18 gauge.

Yes but you could have silver wires..etc. Have them cooked...etc. Then there is the fact that not all wires are created equal. Whether you hear a difference on doing those things is debateable ( I probably wouldn't myself). Talk to rich about it. While knowledgeable and spending thousands on wiring...keep an open mind. I remember the arguement discussion in a thread on here. If anything it will educate your more on what can be done wiring. Benefits is up to the person in general. I don't have a trained ear (yet) when it comes to sound/music. In a 5.1/7.1 ht setup I'd have a real hard time noticing a difference.
