Well, JJ Abrams prefers to work in film. You might even say he "luvs" it. Quite a few directors do.

that is not the grain i hate, little grain is ok,but not grain that sleepy hollow have for example, when you see only the grain like a protection of the picture, its really to much,i want black as black not heavy grain who destroy the picture. thank god that type of grain is not included in many movies.

Nothing wrong with the settings that I have configured for the TV... the blu ray disk are grainy... simple as that.

Yeah, I did... I must have changed the settings a half dozen times for the best PQ, but still has a lot of flying rice. I would think they could get it right by now.

They did get it right. If its on the film, then it's going to be on the blu-ray. Unless they scrub it like Gladiator.

You do realize different film stocks produce different grain? And different ISO speed film produces different grain? And that grain is what gives the film its image and detail?

I agree with you. About 99% of the movies I buy now is on blu ray. However, there are those great classics that have yet to be put on blu ray that I watch on standard DVD that I've owned for a great many years. But you're right. Wait if you can for the blus...

No kidding... using a camera most of my life, I think I know what flying rice is, but thanks for the education...

I wouldn't have guessed you have ever used a camera, using terms like "flying rice."

I'd assume, then, that you would understand all about grain. I guess not.

The way the BDs look is correct - that is simply how the show was filmed. To remove the "flying rice" would remove detail and would negatively effect the look of the show. I'm sorry if you think it looks poor - you are certainly allowed that opinion, even if I disagree. But saying that Disney made a mistake in some manner is false - no mistake was made.

As for Bose, I'm sorry but Bose speakers are generally not well-reviewed by serious audio reviewers. Bose has outstanding marketing, and makes attractive looking products - but there are numerous companies that make speakers that perform much better and offer higher audio quality. The fact that you only offer "Cambridge Soundworks" as a competitor kind of highlights your lack of knowledge in this area.

It's too bad the moderators here tolerate this kind of nonsense... and you're simply completely wrong. It's not a grainy show. It has some grainy scenes but overall it's clean to the point where I was wondering whether Lost had switched to digital cinematography.

Likewise, your "upscaled DVD" comment destroys any shred of credibility you might have, since this release has reference quality detail by any measure.

That's your opinion and you're allowed to have one... just like anyone else. Have a nice day.

I'm happy with what I got and having BOSE is just fine with me.
