Those are movies that I will be watching and re-watching too. But I am a full time student and part time worker. I pick up movies like 'Trek' that I've seen 5 times a film. I may not watch it right away but I pick it up at release when its on sale. Same with lots of others on the list. I hate blind buying. I tend to regret it. I buy things I've seen and liked. Tv shows are the exception. I will buy a show if I've seen an episode or two and liked it then have the rest for DVD viewing. Have to know I like the program though.

The idea to me behind having a large collection is that there will be things sitting there that I at least haven't seen in a long time, and should the time arise where I want to watch a movie alone, with family, or with friends, I have multiple options open. Doesn't mean I think I threw my money away or don't value the purchases. Take 'Braveheart' or 'Godfathers II' and 'III'. You have to be in a certain head space to watch those. So I haven't yet. Opportunity with family did not arise. But it has for the Bourne trilogy (watch it Christmas weekend, the last two in one sitting), and Up, etc... I'm just waiting for the right time and the right film to fit a given moment and I have plenty of options.

There are probably several hundred that remain unwatched in my collection. But I've seen most of them at least once before.

The ones I have that I've never seen before as of today would be:

Blu-Ray:
"Jennifer's Body," started it last night, will probably finish tonight.
"Battlestar Galactica" Seasons 3 and 4 (I'm working on them)

DVD:
"The Dirty Dozen," a Christmas gift
"The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" season 3 (haven't even started yet)
A collection of 600 cartoons

I have a few...
Crank, Independence Day, The Truman Show, Antichrist, Che part II
I've seen them before (except Che), but never on Blu-ray!
Also, it's taking me and my gf ages to finish Planet Earth.

I check mine off on this site as I watch them. As of right now I have 46 unwatched, but several have been watched about halfway (usually if I've seen them before).

500 Days of Summer
Jumper
Boogie Nights
Family Guy

are the titles I will be watching next.

I've put off watching this certain it'll only tick me off.

While writing this I find myself thinking, get over it and check it out!

I suppose I'll try early in the new year.

At the very least, if you're worried that the narrator's message will be too heavy-handed, you could watch it with the sound turned off.

+1.

I never blind buy and I'm pretty stingy with money, so I'm always sure that when I buy blus I know I will watch them, and usually within a day or two.

I was going to ask what was your point in starting this thread as I have already posted in another very similar thread earlier this week. IMO threads like this are a somewhat polite way of asking hey bluray members that have a sizable collection have you really watched all your movies or are you just making blind buys and wasting your cash. I may be totally off track though.

Good idea, perhaps on repeat viewings.

For those of you that don't use the Collection option within this site and others that may not know....if you look at someone's Collection and a title is marked as 'New' it means the collector did NOT check the box, signifying they've watched the movie.

And yes, I buy then don't watch....sometimes don't unwrap them. If I find a good deal, or am just in the mood to SPEND, I'll buy movie(s) and put them on the shelf.

Looking at my collection, I seem to have more than I realized that I haven't watched (33). I've owned Million Dollar Baby for about 14-months....no watchie yet...I'll get there.

I've owned Million Dollar Baby so long it appears I'd forgotten to add it to my Collection....it's now there....thanks OP!!

quest88, you are off track as you suggest, but I take no offense. I am not out to say 'ha ha, you are buying all these movies etc...' as I am too. I started the thread out of sheer curiosity. I just think it's interesting how we let things pile up, or maybe like others, we don't. I was curious what some of those elusive films are for people or how many things they are trying to find the opportunity to watch. For me it's 13-15 movies and some Tv seasons. For others its 50 plus movies. No judgement, just seeing how everybody else runs their collection.

Heck mine would be bigger but I've sold probably 10-15 in the past for various reasons: Deja Vu, A Few Good Men, Last Samurai. I don't blind buy myself. I did with Vantage Point and Traitor. Interesting films, but not repeat viewing worthy in my book and I was out money, even selling them second hand. lol

It's getting pretty bad for me. I've got around 100 movies I've never seen and probably 150 including that I've seen but not on Blu yet.

I haven't gotten around to:

Planet Earth, maybe because I saw it when it was on tv?
Wild China, same thing
Blade Runner
a couple of the Harry Potters
Underworld trilogy
Snow White

I bought a bunch of blu's at once and just haven't gotten around to watching these yet. I'd already seen them before and most were dvd upgrades.
