- Onkyo TX-SR607 (7.1 HD audio capable) : 500 euro
- Bowers & Wilkins MT-25 Home theater set: 1300 euro
- some cabling: 15 euro

The B&W set contains 5 M-1 speakers and 1 ASW608 subwoofer. We're keeping the option open to later buy 2 additional M-1 speakers to go from a 5.1 to a 7.1 setup.

Good morning all!

Well, it's the last day of 2009 and the last day to post or vote before I request to have the thread closed.

A lot of the regular members voted early on in the year, and I know they have made many upgrades between them, so the 2010 thread should see somewhat of a shift in certain categories.

I've decided to let people see who voted and what they voted. I will also be expanding the categories, due to requests.

Thank you all so much for participating in this thread, and I'm looking forward to doing it again for 2010 within the next 24 hours. This will be the third year and I hope it continues for many more thereafter.

Happy New Year everyone!

John

Hi John,

I presume that those are for totals spent for the whole system and not spent for a single year is that correct?

Hi John,

Thanks. We are still moving unfortunately with some problems that have slowed us down including a leak in the kitchen ceiling from the bathtub, the sump pump has failed (thank God we put in a back-up system), Radon Remediation, no working telephone (everything is being forwarded to my Cell), and now another snow fall. I don't know if we will get over to the old house due to the weather.

But, I am poking my head in from time to time but not with much regularity.

Hi Rich,

I understand completely and I can only hope that everything will be resolved shortly.

Will do. Happy New Year to you as well.

Just realized I forgot to substitute the Magnavox for the Sony. Broke $1k.

Hey John, make sure you post the link in here. That way I can vote while my hangover is in full effect! Searching will not be my friend tomorrow.

Looks good to me! I was going to suggest that maybe there are too many sub-$5k categories, but on reflection I think what you have is more appropriate. I also like the way the ranges get bigger as one climbs the scale.

I very much enjoy this thread; it's part of your legacy!

Ah, good to see this clarified. May I suggest that the first plost also makes clear that this is purely about investment in audio equipment (so no TVs, projectors and the like)?

Bummer, Rich. :-(

I hope that moving hassles notwithstanding, you have a very happy New Year!
