I saw this in theaters... twice... both were relatively large audiences. If they EVER take these straight to video, I quit... theaters first or not at all!

Apparently it is going to include the first film when it released on Blu-ray. Strange marketing.

Very odd. You have to watch more than the first movie to understand Saw VI. Not sure why the original would be included.

I'm on of those individuals who thought that the Saw series started going down hill after the 4th installment. I was so disappointed with Saw 4, I didn't bother going to see the 5th or 6th one...and I was the guy who was usually 2nd or 3rd in line at the movies on release night. Anyway, after hearing the reviews, I'm willing to give this one a shot. My question is...do I have to watch the 5th one to understand what's going on, or can I jump right into the 6th?

Thankfully no. Saw VI opens with your typical trap opening scene, then cuts to the ending of Saw V so you're caught up. They briefly mention the five people tested in Saw V but its not really relevant to the plot. All you need to know is that Jill, Jigsaw's wife, is given a box by John at his will reading (shown in flashback in Saw VI).

I think you mean downhill starting with the 4th installment. It's disappointing that you sit through a movie that already feels like a repeat of Saw III (a character tested because he can't let go of something and go on living his life) only to find it culminates in a
[Show spoiler] homage to the first film
with its twist.

Im very excited to finally see this. I won't buy it, but will rent for sure. This is one of the few franchises lately that is at least worth following. So Im just eager to see where they are heading.

I'll probably blind buy this as the Saw movies have historically been $20 at release.

My order of preference so far.

1, 2, 4, 3, 5

One of my few post saw related:

The xage is itching for Tuesday -

I recently aquired 4 Blurays from the Pre-SAW 6 release:

The other 3 from Bestbuy

It sucks that it was only SAW 2 that came with $25 Giftcard, Oh its a Lionsgate offer in Bestbuy and its Buy 2 for $20.00

Other North American SAW Bluray releases:

And the rest of my SAW (in lower format - DVD/UMD)

I might fill this thread up to what extent I can get with SAW VI!

I'm watching Saw IV right now as part of my nightly marathon. I brought all 5 awhile ago from a amazon buy one get one free sale. I have to admit that the DTS MA 7.1 track on Saw IV kicks some serious butt! My surround back speakers are scaring the hell out of my wife and my son's girlfriend .

I got mine from Bestbuy the first day that it came out & it came with a slipcover. I don't care about slipcovers, so I just threw it out..
