Plus who's going to do it? Paramount won't, they've gotten their money already, it doesn't matter to them in the least who wins this format war. They could care less about anyone other then Paramount (not that that's a bad thing, it's just business).
Toshiba would, but they don't release movies, and there's only so much money one company is willing to lose for no reason.
