I just had to join and reply to you and to say THANK YOU! After reading this post about the projector you scored at BB, i just had to see if I could score one for myself. I went to my local BB this past saturday and as expected, nothing. Drove over to the next closest town and checked their BB, again nothing. So on Monday I decided to arm myself with locations for as many BB's as possible and drove up to Chicago, two hours away. At the fifth BB, there was a gutted Sanyo on display with the price listed at $1099. The guy took the card and checked inventory and said none available here, but gave me the location of 3 other stores showing them as in stock and the price would be $719. I drove over to the BB and sure enough, they had the Sanyo PLV-1080HD. He said it was an return or an open box item, but it was sealed so we cut it open and checked contents, all was there, so i said ring it up. He also said since it was considered an open box I could have it for $648.
So, I am now the proud owner of a Sanyo PLV-10810HD, BB's badging of the PLV-Z700, for $648. I went from a Infocus SP5000 to this and all I can say is WOW!! The differences between my infous and the sanyo are dramatic. 1080p is all that I hoped it would be. Now, my blu-rays are just stunning. I can't thank you enough for your post ditch-digger because there is no way i would have gotten this projector for this amount. I wasn't even in the market for buying a 1080p projector until i read your post and I thought, why can't I ever find a deal like that. Well, now I have. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted you to know the story and that your post meant something for me. I am now in the process of calibrating it, but the little I did with the blu-ray DVE it looks pretty good. Can't wait to do a fullblown greyscale and color calibration this week. Thanks again, ditch-digger.
