My problem is I only like concerts if I'm extremely familiar with the music.....

For example, there are a couple of songs from The Who that I know and like but I don't want to buy a whole concert for just those few songs.

Anyways....they need to release more concerts on BD.

EDIT: Yes....I know...I could just listen to more "The Who" and get more familiar with their music.

The Killers: Live From The Royal Albert Hall

its the only concert bluray i own, but it is awesome, about as close as you can get to watching the killers live without seeing them live. sounds fantastic, great camera work, really captures the energy of their concerts.

Talking Heads Stop Making Sense is my favorite concert video. I have it on DVD and am inching closer to the Blu-ray disc. I don't know if I'd call it a proper concert, but Pink Floyd at Pompeii is pretty remarkable too.

The thing that's so great about Talking Heads:Stop Making Sense is that it's such a surreal experience. There are times that you forget you're watching a concert. It's really just an experience. Something that you never forget.

I am a big Black Sabbath fan having grown up on them and saw them in concert in the 70's. However, this video was a major disappointment - nothing wrong with the performances, but in the middle of the songs, they cut away to an interview! I have it, but I became so frustrated watching it that it justs sits on the shelf. It almost seems that a Sabbath hater produced the video to piss off the fans!

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense (BLU)
URGH - A Music War
Bauhaus - Shadow and Light
Down From The Mountain - The O' Brother Where Art Thou Concert
Japan - Oil On Canvas
Prince - Sign O' The Times
The Hives - $2 Bill
Stephen Lynch - Live at the El Ray
Johnny Cash - Live in Denmark
The Swell Season - Live From The Artist's Den

Too bad so many are not on BLU (or would still look crappy)

ouch!! - sorry, but a repetitive car alarm at 4am would be less annoying

my favourite concert gigs for performance would be the 2005 CREAM reunion at Albert Hall, and the Clapton/Winwood blu-ray at Madison SQ. But the best 'overall content' film of alll time is The Last Waltz

Really would like to see Cream's 2005 Royal Albert Hall concert get a blu ray release, the concert was spit up between 2 DVD's, with the space and quality of blu-ray, that would not have to happen! It was filmed in Hi-Def so it would look and sound great on the superior format!
