Thank You for the added info concerning the New Oppo Multi-Disc Player.
The added input you provided was very much appreciated. As well as being timely, also.

I hope you have been feeling better. Its felt slightly odd,not having you on the Forum too much lately. But I certainly understand. And ,no matter the reason, you stay in my Thoughts and Prayers.

I wanted to not just say Hello and Thanks, but to also tell you, that because of you I am an addict.
I have spent a large portion of my Day looking over various Collectibles from different sites, manufacturers, and types(Though most was centered around Star Wars)

Those Dioramas SideShow has are something I could spend all my cash in collecting.
I have two Star Wars ones I want badly.
But 1 is sold out and I cant find it by searching(But at $70.00 I understand why)
The other is available but only because it was released later and is close to three times(or more)the price of the other.

So,inbetween All the different Manufacturers and products its extremely confusing in knowing what to try to collect.
Do you stick to one particular type and make.Or do you spread it out with a piece here and there from different movies and makers.

So,if I didn't have enough to deal with looking at Blu-Rays and HT/Audio Gear. You add on this.
Its an incredible task, but someone has to tackle it.

Thanks,Sincerely for introducing me to the world of Movie Collectibles,Buddy.
It is Highly Addictive(as you warned)But also extremely exciting and interesting.

So,Have a Great Evening and a Wonderful Weekend.
I hope to speak with you tomorrow,my Friend.
Evening Todd ! Thanks for the kind words as usual. Ya I miss this place but being sick and all lately I just tend to come browse once in a while and the rest of the time lie down on the couch and watch some Blus and stuff. I'll be back soon enough to annoy some of you again LOL. I tend to try and stick to the 12" figures and they have to look as close to the real thing as possible. The only 2 exceptions are my T-800 head and the Sauron statue but I'm sure you can see why. What's the one that's sold out that you're after ?

Hope you are Having a Great Sunday,Gates,my Friend.
Glad to hear that You have Finally Shook the Virus that had you under the weather,Buddy.

Again I have to say the New Arcam Amp is Amazing.
I knew you went with Quality Gear in your Home Theater. But,I had No Idea You would choose an Arcam Amp,as Your First External Multi-Channel Amp.That is One High Quality,High Performing Piece of Home Theater Gear,my Friend.

Though I am Thrilled you added it to your System.
The Overall Sound and the Power and Strength behind a Movie's Dialouge and Front Channels Sound-Effects,must be Incredible.

Especially using ot to Bi-Amp Both of those Beautiful and Amazing Paradigm Fronts and the Sweet New Paradigm 6Series Center Speaker.

Every New Addition you have added to your Home Theater, has just been as good as they get.
I offer my Congratulations on One Amazing Home Theater,Buddy.

And I looked over some of the 1/6th scale figures from Sideshow on a FB Album.
They were ALL Amazing.
But the Alien/Predator Collectibles were All,Some of the Most Amazing Pieces, I Have Ever Seen. Then the Pred-Alien was exactally like it looked in AVP 2: Requiem.

The Terminator T-800 1/6th Metal Endo-Skeleton and the T-800 Head with the Light-Up Eyes are Sweet as well.

And,what else can I say about Star Wars.
Any Pieces Based on That Series will automatically be Some of My Favorites.

As Well as the Pieces I seriously Consider Setting Back a certain amount each month,in order to afford to Purchase that One,Grade A,Premium Collectible(Probably a Diorama),to claim as the Crowning Piece of my Collection.

Since I'm talking about Star Wars Collectibles(from SideShow Collectibles)I had to tell you,I am in Love with your Darth Vader 12inch(1/6th scale)Figurine.

It Just Looks So Realistic its Scary.Almost like you expect to start hearing that Breathing Noise he makes and to hear that Iconic,One of a Kind Voice; That Commands Respect and Attention.

Then the StormTrooper is a Piece I Have to Have.
When You Hear(and visualize)Star Wars. One of the First Thoughts and Images that cross your Mind, are of the StormTroopers in their White-Colored,Full Body Armor.

I would Consider it a Crowning Achievement to A Collection,in Having Any of the Star Wars or Alien/Predator Pieces to Display.

(And Thanks to ALL of You Great Guys) I have the Brother to your Terminator T-800 1/6th Scale Replica.
But mine was a Japan Exclusive where its a Matte Black in Color instead of the Metallic Finish.
And I Love It.So Realistic, and changeable hands and weapons to allow different Looks.

And,Again,I Want To Say Thank You Gates.
That Gentle Giant Larger Size Bust of Neo From the Matrix Movies(Keanu Reeves)is a Beauty. So detailed and excellent Workmanship in making him look exactally like Keanu Reeves.

You introduced me to Gentle Giants and the ability to get Excellent Quality alternatives(and complimentary pieces)to the Sideshow Collectible Pieces.

And with Master Replicas and eFX making replicas that are both Full Sized and Scaled Pieces, that look as if they were used in filming the Movies they Represent.

To Everyone Involved,I am Very Greatful for the Darth Maul Force FX Lightsaber.
The Sounds and Lighted Blade offer a Piece to Please Any Star Wars or Weapons Replica Fan.
So,Thanks to Everyone who helped Begin my Movie Memorabilia Collection(It will grow,as its one adictive and fun hobby, that makes you feel like a little kid at Christmas)
Thats how excited I get with each and every piece I look over and try to decide if its the next piece I want in my collection.

I tell ya',its just a tough life.
Too Many Collectibles and Pieces of HT~Audio Gear; to go along with too little Money to Buy it All.

Thanks Todd. The Arcam amp is great. Plenty of power to boot. Now I'm just trying to make a decision on that other Sub12. Would be the piece of pieces to add to my theater, but yet another $1700. I almost feel like I'd be a spoiled brat to add it when I already have 2 subs. I'd most likely sell the Supercube 1 though if I'd get that. Yes those Star Wars collectibles I have are pretty neat. Darth Vader at $120 is not too bad considering I've paid close to $200 for others. I agree with you when you say "Too Many Collectibles and Pieces of HT~Audio Gear; to go along with too little Money to Buy it All"

Hi Gaetan,

I've never ever owned a subwoofer and I'm not a bassfreak either, plus I'm more into 2CH as you you know, but I've never understood the allure of deep driving bass. I mean how much is enough?

In fairness, and if I were a true movie fan first, I suppose the drive to obtain that perfect deep resolution of an explosion or a cannon shot would be a huge attraction. For now I don't really understand it I'm sorry to say.

Bottom line though, if it's worthwhile to you and you truly appreciate it, then who the hell really cares what anyone else (namely me) thinks.

John

I appreciate your opinion nonetheless and I understand what you mean. BUT, 2ch listening and movie lovers aren't the same. That perfect bass is extremely important to most of us, maybe not all, but most

Gates,my Friend.
I think John brought to light A Very Important Point in his Post.

It is a Home Theater, and in Most High End HT Systems,There are Multiple Subs that have amazing performance.

So,if its financially possible,I say go for another Paradigm Sub.You seem impressed with the First Paradigm Sub you added to the Room. And,I would think a Second Sub would give you Bass Performance to Handle Any Movie Audio Track, without the slightest hesitation.

And selling the Def.Tech.SuperCube should sell easily(as Def Tech has a strong following)

So,dont feel bad in adding another sub.If it will enhance your System's Performance and make a Movie Seem more realistic, then that would justify the need of having another Paradigm Sub.

So,in my Opinion,I say " Go For It "!!!!

And on a different note.If you run across a site that has the Sideshow Collectible Star Wars Diorama Titled "Look Sir,Droids." Please let me know.

Its @$70.00 at SideShow(but they are sold out) Its from the Original Star Wars Movie(Episode IV A New Hope).

It shows a flat sand covered desert scene. There is an escape pod in the sand with the hatch open. Then it also has around 5 or 6 StormTroopers standing around the Escape Pod.And one Trooper finds a Piece from a Droid(and says "Look Sir,Droids")

I really love this Diorama but its from 2008 and has probably been sold out for a while.I have checked E-Bay and Google and have had No Success.

So,if you happen to know of a site with them,I would appreciate the heads up.

Thanks,my Friend.I Hope you have a Wonderful Evening and Tomorrow will be a Great Start to a New Week.

And,I say,Get Another Paradigm Sub.

Hey Gates.

Just wanted to jump in (I usually lurk more than post) to give you my full support in upgrading the sub. Since your set-up is clearly more for Home Theater, the sub is perhaps the most crucial part of the experience. If you had a more music/2 channel set-up, I would agree with John in that the sub should take a back seat. I will be getting my fourth sub (I will be putting it together myself this time) and am always on a quest for the best low-end possible (within my budget). If I had the funds, I would definitely make the purchase you are considering.

Finally, I don't know about the rest, but I actually prefer the subs not so much for the explosions or the loud crashes and such, I enjoy the low-end of the sound track of a movie more. Nothing screams suspense more than a low musical section to let you know that something good is about to happen.

4th sub ...I already have 2 but I'd sell the Supercube to have the 2 matching subs in front. Still in decision...I also want a TV for my room and I can't afford both.

Morning Fors ! Not sure yet but I'll decide before the end of the day. I already have 2 subs like I said, so it might not be a necessity and I need a TV for my room. My son is making me jealous watching TV at night before bed in his room LOL. I haven't had a TV in there for over 7 or 8 years.

Wow I can't even imagine 4 subs ! Although it would be neat to have 2 Sub12's in the front and my Supercube 1 behind the couch...how do you put 3 subs ? A Y splitter on a Y splitter ? Feeling much better, thanks !
