That is exactly what is going to happen. Warner is relentlessly cheap in issuing and reissuing Blu-rays. They will take the existing UK disc and throw in some extra physical items and then call it a day. Figuring out their marketing plans is not too hard if you pay attention to them.

I would recommend to everyone to just import the UK Blu-ray now.

At this point I am happy with Warner when they include a lossless audio track. The cynic in me does not believe things will change anytime soon at WB.

I doubt there's a lossless track for this movie anyway, popular child fantasy movie or not.

Of course there is, they already released a lossless track for the Goonies on blu-ray (UK)

The UK version is perfectly fine, and i'am pretty sure they'll re-use the same transfert..

On topic, was the famous squid scene ever actualy filmed? I always find it so funny when you hear the kids mentioning the giant squid in the movie and you just go "what giant squid??"

It would be cool if they did something cool for it. A boxset would be cool or a digibook.

Kinda upset that this is not being released before the 25th Anniversary in June in Astoria. A bunch of the cast is gonna be there and it would be cool to get it signed.

Could it be they actually want to film footage from the event to put on the blu-ray. Be cool idea if they did.
