The latest rumor is that Summit, yes the studio that delivered us the *ahem* groundbreaking Twilight films, wants to buy the Miramax name AND the entire film library. Which worries me, since it's become apparant that Disney doesn't even care about the Miramax films - they'd sell it for a little less than 1 billion. Which means that all the films are going away from Disney whether we like it or not - they're only waiting for a high enough bid.

Miramax is not "out of business" The division has simply been absorbed into the whole (Like New Line with WB).

The reason why Disney will sell the catalog "so cheap", is that video revenue is way down from that end. In fact most people are saying they're asking too much for it, and a more realistic price is $5-600million

Why would you be worried? summit always does excellent transfers and im sure they'll get more catalogs out in the U.S, like good will hunting, faster than disney would ever have.
