I guess one reason it seems excessive is that some BDs like BSG is available as a COMPLETE series for like £100 and contains 4 series and 2 mini-series. Star Trek is about £40 at least, each season, and so ends up costing more when you get them all. Of course, I'm pretty sure BSG is more expensive in the US so there it might seem a bit more relative.

My theory is that Paramount is pushing the 3-season package hard now. They are probably inducing retailers to do the same and giving them incentive to sell more of the 3-seasons packs over the individual seasons. Therefore the individual seasons are priced higher in relative terms. It's all about volume. More sales = more $$$.

I have been so tempted to pick this up but I will wait until the price goes down a little or I can't wait any longer.

Just to clarify, the 3 pack comes w/ individual slip covers for each season? Thanks.

Mine just came with a slip for season 3. No outer box either. Just the 3 seasons shrink wrapped together with a sticker.

So you ordered the 3 pack, but only got a slipcover for Season 3?

My understanding was the 3 pack had slips for all 3 but maybe not. I like Amazon but if price I buy locally so you don't miss out on slips or can inspect the blu before hand for flaws.

The 3 pack and Seasons 1 & 2 are pictured with slips which is kind of misleading if that's not the case. Most probably won't care but some do.
