Hi guys just wanted to update everyone here:

Derek is sending replacements or original items out to people that genuinely were in a transaction with him.

He has sent out my replacement Steelbook with a tracking number (yes the thing starts with LC green custom form) and he is replying back to my emails (faster than some members on this forum for sure )

Will update you guys when I get my Steelbook.

Anyone who needs help contacting him let me know.
Oh and please don't send fake requests to get steelbooks from him cos my butts on the line here.
Thanks.

Derek has been ignoring or avoiding to send me my refund for about two weeks since I managed to reach him now. Now, he's back to ignoring my emails. It's really frustrating me.

Well guess what, Derek just sent me a refund. He emailed me apologizing and was extremely professional. I really don't know what his deal is - perhaps he's going through a rough patch - but he is not a scammer.

i'll tell you what, honestly i have dealt with derek a number of times (i still am) and never had a problem. and i'm sure alot of you guys actually did have problems with transactions with him. I'm not doubting anyone. But i also bet there are quite a few people saying they had trades and what not with him that really didn't just to try and get stuff for free. It works both ways

I have been wondering about this too... Derek has bought a blu-ray from me once many months ago and there is no problem whatsoever with our transaction. Furthermore, just looking at his feedback, he has 86 positive feedback before all the floods of negatives from 10 days ago.

I was going to help ship him a couple of Australian titles when I noticed his "suspended" status so I asked him about it a couple of weeks ago. This is his response:

My account was suspended because of two members in Canada that filed a complaint. I offered to send them their items express, but they said it cost too much, so I had to send it cheap media mail. The shipment got sent with the Christmas mail, so it is taking forever. They expected it to be there in two or 3 days, which NEVER happens. It usually takes two weeks normally. Anyway, they filed a complaint so I got temporarily suspened.

I got to ask this question. If people refused to pay for the more expensive postage method that comes with tracking, surely the seller is not entirely accountable if it gets stolen by the postie? I don't know Derek personally so I can't vouch for him. But it seems to me that members who sells stuff seems to have less protection than the buyers?

One other thing for buyers opting for the cheapest postage. If a shipment is sent using surface mail internationally, it is normal for it to take 2-3 months. I have used international surface mail from Canada at least half a dozen times now, and the transit times do vary. Most surface mail takes more than 2 months, the occasional ones will take less than a month but I attribute those ones to luck rather than norm.

There is no 'Media' mail with international mail. International mail from the USA has 4 Services via USPS.
  • International First Class Mail-No tracking however comes with a Label #(usually starts with LC) that shows acceptance at usps.com
  • Priority International Mail- Trackable, begins with LJ usually
  • Express Mail International-Trackable- begins with EC usually
  • Global Express International- Trackable, very Expensive, usually 3 days World wide, Guaranteed
There were not 2 members, We have a list of 21 members that we knew of at the time. He was asked numerous times to provide information on this and all we got was lost in mail. Notice, all completed trades came from US members
Instead of trying to resolve these trades while suspended. He created another alias(bluiguy) and tried to create another thread to continue selling.

Thanks for this, your inputs as well as your USPS details are very helpful. I did not know USPS International FC mail comes with a label that shows acceptance on the tracking page.

I have used USPS Priority International Mail many times in the past, FYI all of my tracking numbers starts with CP.

I forgot about the counter forms, they are CP. I have only used the self print ones from Paypal or usps.com where you pay for the postage online. The ones at the counter at the post office are different

Funny thing is that Derek never gave me the option to pay extra for express shipping. We made the deal back in early November and I still havent received my steel. But then again, I never filed a complaint against Derek. I started this thread after reading the comments on his wall and after his account being suspended.

Glad to see him gone. Dealt with him once and it was a complete nightmare. I did eventually get my steelbook from him...after about 6 weeks.

Good riddance.

Can anyone explain to me why Derek would trade/sell from a lot of members all at one time? Damn, he must have over 20 members that's pending.

I was one of the few that never had a problem, and I was able to get my SB trade in 3 business days last month.

I just an e-mail off to Derek a couple of days ago regarding a refund on my order (he told me he would refund me my payment if my order still does not arrive in a week), still waiting for him to reply. I hope everything goes well as many members here still seem to be getting good results from him recently.
