If that award ever existed, I would perhaps choose Battlefield Earth. It proves not only that abusing tilting camera angles and tinting backgrounds can cause seizures, it also proves that A-list characters like Travolta can fail on screen.

LOL the Academy is about sucking up, not put-downs. Travolta is an actor, not a character and besides, that was hardly the first time a top-level actor did a bad movie.

You're right, even Stallone was awarded the Razzie "Worst Actor Of The Century" for I quote: 99.5% of what he's done.

Not even close. It never set out to be anything more than it is, while other movies failed miserably at what they set out to do. That's the main thing that gets me when people crap on the movie. I'm not saying everyone should love it as much as I do, but people should at least know what they're talking about before they do so.

LOL my bad but I'm actually starting to agree with a movie fan I chat with. It would seem the Razzies are about killing hype and not "awarding" bad movies. He made the point that for every movie that gets nominated there are at least 10 more that are worse and I agree. I'm actually surprised Star Trek wasn't given a nod.

I figured you just got lost

Star Trek for a Razzie?

Transformers 2 will probably win because it is the most popular one to hate. It isn't the worst of the year, like I've said, that is EASILY Miss March.

Ben Affleck hasn't been in the best movies this past decade, but he did a phenomenal job directing Gone Baby Gone (and was good in State of Play I thought). I'm looking forward to seeing more directorial work over acting work from him if he chooses to go that route.
Gone Baby Gone was one of those rare movies that I tell other people, "You really need to see that movie." Especially since my wife and I are both teachers and some of those questionable parenting decisions really made an impact.

This was a joke that Tom Green played on the movie producers. There can be no other explanation.

I don't hate Revenge of the Fallen, it's just stylized action for 2.5 hours so you kind of have to turn your brain off to watch it. Definitely doesn't deserve a Golden Raspberry, hoping GI Joe runs away with those so Sommers won't make anymore.

G.I. Joe 2 was given the green light a long time ago. You'll get over it, I'm sure.

I just looked it up in Wikipedia and it says it cost $15 million. Pretty good joke!

G.I. Joe is my guilty pleasure movie of the year. It was fun entertainment. I saw it twice in theaters. It really wasn't that bad. I loved Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance as the cobra commander. The special effects were a little cheesy at times but still not that bad of a movie. Dragonball Evolution takes the cake at worst of 09.

My selections are in bold, but since the only 2 movies from these nominations I even saw where Land of the Lost and Transformers I only voted in their categories, cause everything else looked so terrible to begin with I never bothered to watch any of these.

Worst Picture of 2009
* Land of the Lost

Worst Actor of 2009
* Will Ferrell (Land of the Lost)

Worst Actress of 2009
* Megan Fox (Jennifer's Body and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen)

Worst Supporting Actress of 2009
* Julie White (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen)

Worst Supporting Actor of 2009
* Jorma Taccone (Land of the Lost)

Worst Screen Couple of 2009
* Will Ferrell & "Any Co-Star, Creature or "Comic Riff"" (Land of the Lost)

Worst Director of 2009
* Brad Silberling (Land of the Lost)

Worst Screenplay of 2009
* Land of the Lost, Written by Chris Henchy & Dennis McNicholas

Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel of 2009
* Land of the Lost

I thought I missed alot of movies from the oscars, now I feel relieved that the only movie I watched on their was Transformers 2. I would voted that largely because I avoided the other crap, but I watched it because a certain someone wanted to watch it. Maybe I watched too many classic film, instead of watching the oscar winners (Hurt Locker, Education, Precious, Football tear jerker) or the razzies (G.I. Joe, Land O Lost, Teenage werewolf vampires), I watched recent films such as Gomorrah, A Christmas Tale, Che, Broken Embraces for example, which are not as popular, but are great films nonetheless.

Transformers 2 (Oh, I'm sorry. Trannies Too ) was a huge letdown over the sequel in so many levels. The movie was too long, almost half of the scenes were totally unnecessary (such as in the case of
[Show spoiler]robots destroying Sam's house, and the humping R/C decepticon turned autobot
), and Bay just abused the slow-motion sequences and the frantic explosions. G.I. Joe may have been just your regular, generic action movie with piss-poor special effects and poor acting, and I haven't seen Land Of The Lost, but I know it was almost universally panned by critics, but Trannies Too gets my vote for Worst Picture.

Whoever nominates these is a moron, how can Bullock be on worst actresses when shes also up for a oscar, not possible. Seems like they just pick out 5 or 6 movies they dont like and pick on them in every catagory. Also How is Channing Tatum not nominated for worst actor but Ferrel is for a comedy that wasnt even horrible, not good but not horrible.

To generate interest of course and it is possible to nominate a oscar nominee, it is a matter of opinion you know...

True, but it is still pretty stupid to nominate an actor or actress just because the movie itself was bad. Regardless of opinion, it makes it easy to have my opinion about the Razzies when they nominate somebody who is also up for an Oscar. Either way though, it doesn't matter to me who they nominate because as I've said before, I think the Razzies are stupid and useless.
