This guy isn't waiting around for work, he is on one hell of a role right now and keeps attaching himself to more work. Looks like he'll be busy all year long. I definitely like the guy so I'm looking forward to his upcoming slate of features.



Being the star of "Avatar" has put Sam Worthington in high demand. And before the Aussie can consult Leonardo DiCaprio about what it's like to star in a worldwide, record-setting blockbuster and have Hollywood at your feet, he's already lining up new projects.

Worthington's "Clash of the Titans" may be blasting its way into theaters in April, but that's when he'll begin shooting the new thriller "The Fields" for drector Ami Canaan Mann.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Fields" will find Worthington as a Texas homicide detective who teams up with a New York colleague to investigate a series of murders. The trade notes the screenplay is also based on a true story.

Mann is the daughter of noted filmmaker Michael Mann. The senior Mann is on board to co-produce.

Worthington also recently committed to Universal Picture's "Dracula Year Zero." That film is not expected to begin production until later this year after "The Fields."

Sam has made Sci-Fi and Fantasy a mainstay of his career in Hollywood so far. He starred in last summer's "Terminator Salvation" and will hit screens as Peseus in "Clash of the Titans" in April. On the non-genre side, Worthington also has the thriller "The Debt" with Helen Mirren" in the can.

I am definitely most looking forward to his Vlad the Impaler role.

Let's hope they change the title, Dracula Year Zero is a terrible title and brings up not so fond memories of Dracula 2000.

Yeah, I'd call it "Vlad" personally..............

I still cannot find any information on who actually wrote this though. Cause it sounds exactly like the project Charlie Humman sold in December, and I wanna know if this is his movie or not!

Depending on how dark the movie is - I'd call it "Vlad the Impaler". "Vlad" sounds like a Russian surfer.

I think considering how dense most people are these days, anything longer than Vlad would confuse them "What's an Impaler?" lol.
