The flashback as in the opening scene? It's like that on the Thai DVD too. It's just the way they did it. My guessing it's to give it like a trance. Also the scenes where

is like that. Also, the scene where the king

[Show spoiler]comes to the village after Tien thought he killed him has a really soft image on the reveal. As if it is to make the viewer go, "Didn't he just die?" And then we cut back to focus with the next shot as we see him opening his vest and he's got armor

I can understand the soft focus and poor resolution as part of director's vision. However, what's with way off black level in fade to black all about? That has to be a technical mistake.
