I know this game has seen alot of discussion in the old Xbox 360 thread, but now that we have this dedicated area I figured this game warranted its own thread so here it is. Please post all discussion related to Modern Warfare 2 here.

360 version finally got it's own thread!

Bit of a late-comer to MW2. Bought it but never really got into it up until a few weeks ago. Decided to complete it on veteran before going online (as I knew I would get battered). Was tricky but managed it okay!


Currently at level 41 with around 2660 kills and 2140 deaths (give or take - I know the difference is 500 but can't remember the exact figures). 17 ill streak highest so far and 23.5% accuracy

Any idea when the new map packs might be coming out?

I don't understand the obsession with this game, but I am Hooked! I can't put it down. The glitches have to go.

I was super excited for this game, until I played it. Why did they change it so much? I loved COD4 because you could play so many different ways. All you have to do in this game is camp. The glitches are what finally put the nail in the coffin for me though, noob tubes are bad enough, but infinite? No. Shame on you IW for putting out this game with so many damn problems. Sorry guys, I'm not on the bandwagon.

Not true about only being good if you camp. I refuse to camp,and most of the time run around with a ump45/mp5k or a scar/tar21/famas/m4 and rush spawn points aggressively. I'm overly aggressive sometimes, which is why my k/d ratio is at a 1.12 right now, but im lvl 62 2nd prestige and I have a fair bit of my gun challenges done. I couldn't camp if I tried, as I get bored easily. lol.. I snipe often as well, but am very VERY aggressive with it, and usually do so from the middle part of the map.
The glitching was pretty out of control for a while, but honestly I enjoyed shooting down all the killstreaks in the air with my stinger. The care package glitch single handedly got me cold blooded pro 6 and stinger veteren 6 this prestige. And the glitchers were easy to find so I enjoyed the free kills and care package presents as well. lol. I have more of an issue with FFA fags boosting nukes in a corner and people that hacked to the 10th prestige by paying 1600 microsoft points/$20-$25 and talk alot of trash in the lobby and get mad when they suck and everyone makes fun of them. Play the game and achieve things for yourself, don't cheat to get to the top prestige or the leaderboard as it makes you look retarded.

I just can't stand when people use ridiculous exploits and have laggy hosts when they could easily have DEDICATED SERVERS with all the money they've made off of us. L4D2 has them and it has sold faaaar less than MW2. I'm not really bad at the game or anything (1.4 K/D) but I'm sick of developers saying "oh, we'll fix it at some point with a patch, so deal with it." Same with noob tubes, waaay overutilized, I'm not changing the way I play because that's the easiest way to win and also the cheapest. I'm not buying another multiplayer game unless it has a beta. IW lost a customer here.

I agree that they should have dedicated servers. Honestly though, a Beta wouldn't of helped this game as much as everyone thinks. 99% of the issues this game has is from people that dedicate alot of their free time to finding ways to glitch the most popular games. Only thing the Beta would of caught right away would of been the power of the 1887's and maybe the care package sprint speed. They wouldn't of thought to grab a carepackage marker, jump over something while switching your weapon twice and then you get a free care package. They would of just tested normal gameplay to make sure everything ran the way it was supposed to. The positive thing is that at least they don't have servers/matchmaking like Gears 2 does. Worst online experience in my life, and I've had alot of them. lol

I agree that there is no way to catch all of the bugs and glitches and whatnot. But, I still have to think of the sales numbers, with all that money they could've dedicated some staff to more extensive bug-testing, same for Gears 2. Gears 2 always seems to pick the worst host. For some reason, I have a 20 meg connection and I get picked maybe 20% of the time. If I don't, then it's usually lag-city. I'll give it MW2 that everytime they search for new host it picks me. At least they did SOMETHING right.

Did they patch up the Care Package glitch yet? I read that it was going to be in the next update.

Had a few awesome games last night in Hardcore TDM. Went 15-0 on Estate with the M21. LOL accidentally killed a friend though with my Chopper Gunner.

Let's see if we can all get together tomorrow night or Saturday night.

You do realize that the people that set up that game had JTAG xboxs and if you get put into a game like that, you just back out/report player/avoid player/then dashboard before you start another game? They are banning people for that stuff. I have a friend who had to purchase a new xbox yesterday because they banned his for modding. People like that is why this game sucks sometimes. IW can't fix that. They are hacking the xbox and putting in their own lines of code. Probably a bunch of 15 yr old kids in their parents basement. Losers

From what I can tell, yes they have patched the CP glitch. Over on the 360 achievement forums there are people claiming that you can still do it. I have tried every way I can find to do it in a cage match against a buddy, but none will work. The old way WILL work if you do a private match, but that doesn't affect regular gameplay so thats not a big issue.
I am also excited for the new maps. After playing the campaign, I am definately hoping for a map involving the oil rig in some way, and I also wouldnt mind a map that had The Gulag as well(wheter it be inside the prison or out in the courtyard using the buildings as well.) Also would love some maps from Washington DC and the suburban houses. Those would be quite fun I think.

They should add a game mode where a smaller team has to defeat a larger team but the larger team has lower health and respawns while the smaller team can't respawn. Then they run through the Gulag and other objective based maps.

I would love to see some online maps featuring the oil rig and gulag. Those would be awesome.

Yes, but it looks like the Jav & CP glitches are back, no modding needed
