At some point financially this is going to come to an end. The good thing for Sony is they haven't taken the losses that Toshiba has (standalone player wise). If the low end players fail to energize the sales of HD software, I can't see them continuing just for the sake of continuing.

So my point is they will cut their losses if it looks so bleak it only makes sense to give up. That's why the next two months is very important for BR....it needs to be a slaughter. Any defection from Universal or Warner could be the breaking point.
