Default How in-demand is the old 60gb?

I am seriously thinking about replacing the old 60gb with a new slim because I just purchased new furniture.
Can I get a good deal selling it in local?

Purchased by in 2007, no problems so far, only played no more than 5 games or so on it

For those who sold your old 60gb, did you get a good price for it?
Just wondering.

NOT SELLING HERE, just want to know about your experience.

Go ahead and buy the slim but put the 60gb away - don't sell it - someday it will be a collector piece like the ps1 scph-1001.

If it still works, keep it as long as you can. You'll regret it later if you replace it. The 60GB is rare and has a very high value because they're not in production anymore. The slim version works flawlessly. Its light weight, it bitstreams, and saves energy.

By the way, I'll buy your 60GB for a reasonable price.

Keep the 60. Perhaps you can use it for a bedroom set up?? Then get the new Slim 250 !

Used ones at gamestop still fetch 350.00 in my area since it's backwards compatible.
Just saw the price yesterday when I stopped in to pay more on my GoW III UE.

I say keep it unless you have no use for it at all. I have a 80gb also and I wish I had two 60gb instead. The memory card reader, extra usb ports & BC are all huge bonuses to me I especially like the card reader and extra usb's.

Pawn shop near me is advertising one on their sign for $369.00. I'm almost tempted. Not really. The SA-CD ability alone makes me want to hang on to it.

If you have any of the old system games to play on it Keep it. My org 60GB PS3 started to die on my last year went to BB collected in on my Warranty got even $100 back and got new one since the price drop going to go back maybe next moth and get a Slim and get my other $100 back. I didn't even think about keeping it since I didn't have any old games.

PS3 will prob come out with another one once they stop selling the PS2 to & make it BC but yea them things are going for alot for 3+ year old system.
I'm still not sure if it's a hardware feature or software if it was software I think Sony would of released a DL patch to buy it it by now.

IF you do sell you pretty much could get a Slim out of it and really would only have to buy a warranty if you want one.

Also have my launch 20gb - still all original - If I need more space I'll just attach an external drive... Still remember the day, got off work 7 am Thursday morning to stand 9th in line at Future Shop, stayed the 26 hours until Future Shop opened the next day to find out that they only had 8 60gb models in stock - Oh well got a 20 gb instead - funny how I was the only 50 year old in line though

I have a broken 60 just laying around, needs a new blu-ray drive. I planned on fixing it sometime but never got around to it. Might be a good idea to get a replacement drive while they are still available.

I wanted to download a movie and didn't have enough space because of stored game info, so I bought an external drive to save downloaded content, only to discover you can't save movies to an external drive, so I was kind of forced to update...

I was in the Contact Lens Service at school, snuck out... FLEW to Oak Court Mall in Memphis. another patron and I were walking in at the same time, so being a gentleman, I said "you can go ahead" (so we wouldn't bump into each other). Bastard got the last 60! So I got stuck with a 20 and they let me pick any ps2 greatest hits I wanted. Crappy consolation, but it was God of War, so - I can't complain too much. She's still kickin!

Took it home, hooked it up, then promptly packed it up - since I was in the middle of moving to Dover Delaware for an externship.

I have a 60gb one. I've considered selling it and upgrading several times. Mine has been flawless, but the increasing ylod problems have had me worried, plus I've literally used the backwards compatibility once to see if it worked and never again. If mine goes out I probably will take sony's upgrade option over repair.
