Maybe we'll all get free slims from Sony if it is a critical issue.

Was playing a game when the PSN went down but continued playing it anyways. When I did quit game I looked at my trophy list while PSN still being down and my trophies for that game are just MIA and doesn't even make it look like I ever even played the game before since it's not even in my trophy collection. It's like someone erased it.

Wish I would have read this thread before trying to play Call of Duty tonight

So is the consensus that I will lose all my progress etc?

What are "Trophies" ??? because I don't care about that crap.... just don't want to lose my in-game progress as I'm on my way to prestige for the 3rd time, and it took a little time.

Wouldn't it be pointless to not turn on the system. Even when the problems fixed, when you turn on the system it would still be 3.15 or whatever's causing this.

SIGH I wanted to start heavy rain today..

Can't I still get trophies if offline and then just sync it when the problems fixed?

I've been playing Bioshock for the last hour. Connected to the PSN and everything is working for me, even getting the trophies to update on my username card. Using a 80gb PS3 and in St. Louis.

On Neogaf it was noticed that it died the moment GMT went to midnight.

The theory there is that the internal clock in (most) older PS3s had a February 29th 2010, which the firmware doesn't know what to do with.

It's just a theory and it comes from Neogaf, but it does fit with the facts about the clock going all weird and the timing of the problem, and it fits with the fact that PS3s not connected to the internet are affected.

I'm working on figuring that out right now. I completed a task that should have got me a trophy, but got nothing. Now i'm working on another one to see if it'll work for me.

I haven't been on PSN in about 2 weeks, so i'm as off-line as you can get. I'll let you all know soon.

Aren't the calenders synced via the internet or manual?

I would have thought synced by the internet like any other online enabled device.

Readers/followers are confirming that "slim" units (120/250 GB models) are connecting normally.

I got online just fine with the PSP, used the store, etc so the PSN is not down, it's most likely the clock bug
