Hey, thanks alot BigAl. I live only a couple hours from Greensboro! You know, I searched their website for a dealer but only saw a link to resellers. I even typed "dealer" in thier search bar with no success. Looks like I'll get a chance to hear those Sttafs/Arros after all!

@Lestat: I was actually thinking the Mentors were probably a closer match to the Helicons than the Ikon series being as they used the curved cabinet design along with a matte finished real wood veneer. As much as they are asking for the Ikons, looks like they would all be veneer finishes, as I've seen many less expensive brands with better cabinets. I guess they had to cut cost somewhere...being as they still use the two stage ribbon design as well as nice drivers and crossovers on thier Ikon series. I'll be sure to audition everything Dali they have setup in the demo room. I'm still looking for a floorstanding loudspeaker as opposed to monitors for the simple fact that I want to enjoy quite a bit of 2 channel. I'd consider the Mentor before dropping 3 grand down on the Helicon bookshelves....though they are beautiful sounding speakers in the right enviroment.

Nice ok I'm happy to hear that, I will give my impressions on the Helicon and the Ikon probably this weekend I go to the Dali Dealer this Saturday.

That's an excellent deal for a new set of Dynaudio 220s. I've heard many great things about those 220 and 220 II's. I will be giving them a listen soon enough. I'm always browsing the Audiogon classifieds, that's a good way to get some dream speakers for a good bargain. I just need to find the right speakers for me and then try to scoop up a pair elsewhere...like audiogon or ebay.

thanks, im sure i will. have not heard one bad thing about dali speakers and not one bad thing from anyone that owns them. so i think i may be safe

uuuuummmmmm, nope not yet

coming in on monday the 8th. the big storm we had here in NH really wrecked us. we had 270,000 ppl without power. i lost my power last thursday and got it back late last night. i think thats why he delayed shipping them out. i will let you know for sure believe me, i will be reviewing them here for sure. thanks

cant wait to get these hooked up and give a listen. got my amp/preamp, speaker cables all ready to go. now i am researching a quality CD player to go along with my 2 channel setup. any recommendations? i was looking at cambridge audio, marantz and a few others. dont want to spend more than $500 and i know they can get real expensive.

some people even recommended tube CD players??

Personally I would recommend a Marantz CD player, something that is known for its musical nature.

What receiver are you going to use to drive these speakers?

nice, NAD makes nice equipment, and for $250 that is a really good deal.
