For 160$ there are a lot of cases that give the same thing. Unfortunately, the OP is probably thinking with his wallet.

tootall82103, the ram you linked is DDR3-1600 and the MoBo is only rated to DDR3-1333. This could cause a conflict with stability or have the system not even make it to POST. I'd suggest using ram rated for the board (ie. Mushkin, Corsair).
The rest of the suggestions seem OK. I'd spend more to get a better motherboard and power supply, but that's just me.

If the OP needs extra HD space later on, I'd suggest buying another internal drive unless it HAS to be portable or is required for backups only. It's a waste of Desktop space, AC plug-in, and extra money to buy a external over a internal when it isn't needed.
