Oh well, it's been great using it now.

I wonder what the LBP update was yesterday 1.25? I'm guessing it will be some silly new costume in the LBP story. I don't want/need costumes - I need creating materials. Hopefully, it's something useful.
I don't mind some of the costumes. It helps me with new ones. I need more accessories...

Probably one or two times more working on it and it should be complete.
I'm just having some doubt about how to make the start of the level.
I have this idea for a tiny bit of an adventure-element,
but still don't want to make it too long cause it's basically just a race.
So if people want to retry immediately, it shouldn't take another 20+ seconds to get to the start of the race.
But I think I can cram it in there... :P

Like I said before - my biggest recommendation - have buddies beta test it before publishing it. Chances are you'll find areas you need to improve that you weren't aware of.

And it's much better if you're friends find the problems (or you see areas that don't work as well with 2 players etc. that need to be tweaked) - before releasing it and getting low star ratings and annoyed comments.

Sometimes, it can be dis-heartening. I thought I was done with my first, Great Race level. Invited some buddies to try it - and they brought in their kids - the kids got stuck in the "spokes" of the vehicles and couldn't get out - we didn't even get past the beginning of the level and I already had a major re-design needed!

Get some buddies who don't mind giving you their honest recommendations and have them play it with you.

There is a Saint Patrick's Day costume available for free at the Store right now, just a heads up.

Yeah. But I thoroughly test all of it myself though.
I definitely make sure everything works and there's nothing weird that can happen.
Also, getting some people that I know to play it isn't that easy at this time.
I don't know anyone personally that plays LBP, and there aren't many people in my online-list either.
Still only have the PS3 for about... 3-4 months by now.

But like you pointed out before, I could just place a test-version first.
If I make an updated version the ratings and such would be erased anyway right?
Unless... the same level just gets updated in the place of the previous?...

So in the US-store too?

Cause I was looking for that cause I saw it on my EU-account in the EU-store.
Then I searched in the US-store cause my copy is a US-version, but couldn't find it.
Guess I'll have another look. :P The costume is cute.

Thanks,
Why would they update for a costume that has already been available? The St. Patrick's day costume was available last year and has been in my inventory the whole time.

Update has nothing to do with that. It remains a mystery.

Well - at the time (Wednesday) - we didn't know if anything new was coming to the store - so I think it was a good guess (and I didn't realize the costume was the old one till I looked last night). Doing an update for Move seems a bit pre-mature and doesn't do anybody any good at the moment. But yeah, I already have the St. Patty's day costume. I'm getting annoyed, the PSP LBP is getting all sorts of cool thing - show some love for the PS3! (For creators, that is).

HOWEVER - since the update, I have a BIG problem now!

I've mainly been creating - saw no issues. I went to play a few levels last night. There is NO music in Play Mode and any levels, even my own levels whether published or on my moon. In create mode, the music boxes play fine when you get near them. I even tried Story Mode and nope, no music.

Sound effects work, but that's it.

Anyone else experiencing this?!

I don't recall having that issue, but I'll check again right now. BRB

Working fine for me

Well then, what the hell could be wrong with mine?! I've restarted the game and my PS3 - same issue.

I'll have to see if I messed with some strange setting. (I think I know what it may be - hopefully, it's just a setting I have to re-do - nothing else would make sense).

Thanks for checking it out buddy.

Cool. Let us know if you have any questions. Fun little game - I enjoy creating more than playing, but playing is definitely more fun with buddies.

Yeah, it appears I already got this costume. But nice that they are re-releasing it for folks who didn't have the game last year.

Question

I have no idea what they updated and I didn't play enough to find any issues.

But anyway, the weird thing over here was,
that when I looked for the costume in the store, it was nowhere to be found.
There was like an "ad" for it, you know, but it was nowhere between anything you could purchase.
Anyway, finally I just thought I'd search by "patrick" and it did show up in the results.
So now I finally has it after 2-3 days. :P

Oh, by the way, I have an unrelated question:

I do not have anything that you have to actually buy with money yet.
So the big and popular "Pirates" and "Metal Gear" ones, I just don't have them yet.
Anyway, when I looked at the things you could purchase, I saw the level-packs and also costume-packs.
Does this mean when you just have the level-packs you can not "find" or "win" the costumes??
Cause that's what I expected, when you go through the levels you find or win the items.
And that the costume-packs would just be for the people that simply wanted just those items instantly.
Or is that the case after all?...

Just go to the LBP section through the official PS store. Easier to find it then looking on the game.

The costumes and the levels are separate purchases (i.e. the costumes are not given as "prizes" in the level packs). Level packs include playable levels (for MGS and Pirates), while some level packs mainly include building materials (stickers, new materials) for Creators.

I tend to buy level packs cause I mainly Create in LBP. (I seldom play, unless it's a buddies level, or an official MM level - and those I mainly play to get the new stickers/materials).

Some people don't create, and mainly play and create costumes.

So, if you want both - you have to buy both. (The MSG and Pirates pack really add some great materials for creating and are worth it IMO - and the levels are fun too).

Since my PS3 is now dead, I've took off some dust on my psp and bought LBP PSP. For lbp fans I highly recommend. The levels are quite fun!

Yeah, I played the demo - looked good. But I don't want to get it - LBP takes enough of my time up - I'd be afraid if I had a portable version!

Any plans to get your PS3 fixed anytime soon?

Sony is called, so I'm waiting for the puralator box to send it.

I havent try the creation part of the lbp psp thought. But I'm not a very good creator on ps3 so I'm scared about the psp version! If I have too much spare time, I'll give it a try.

I was wondering if creating on the PSP would be hard since it is so tiny.

Will you lose all your saved games? I lost mine when my 60 gig died. I've been SLOWLY getting all my LBP stuff back.

I did, it wasn't there.
The second thing I did is try and find it through the in-game store, but it wasn't there either.

Wow... that's quite a ripoff if you ask me.
I mean, sure 12 Dollars... for everything... I don't know.
But it's the principle of, you have the levels, you want the outfits too? BUY IT!
Why didn't they just put the outfits in the levels as with all original levels
and then charge maybe up to 10 Dollars?...
Big... fat..... meanies...

Edit:

I have another question though. lol
How on LittleBigPlanet do you place on of those Community Level Keys?
Is that an ability I didn't "find" yet? Which I doubt.
Or... I really can't find it and I don't think I ever came across it.
