You don't want the cheering to cover up any of the good dialogue. I'll probably watch them with my son who is also a fan.

You need to let any females who come over about the t-shirt removal rule.

I would ask to have my week off to watch this set but it's too late so will just settle for blowing almost an entire day off to do it.

Are you going to have a catheter installed or will you pause for potty breaks?

Too bad Brooke Burke isn't a close friend.

I'd settle for the lovely actress who played the Elvish warrior/princess, Lady Arwen.

Peter Jackson said that the theatrical versions are his Director´s Cut.

What Peter Jackson said (and I am summarizing) was that the theatrical versions are the best films they can be at the length demanded by New Line. The extended versions are the best they can be without any limits on their length.

In effect, both versions are "Director's Cuts" because Jackson had the final say over both.

Sounds actually like the theatrical cuts were "studio-approved" and the extended cuts were "director-approved" but he likes both releases.

New Line said that the films (especially the first two) had to be under a certain length, but Jackson was allowed to cut the films himself. So they were still his cuts, just within the time limits imposed by the studio.

While I prefer the extended cuts, I don't have the same disdain for the theatricals that some seem to have. They are pretty damn good movies by themselves (or else we wouldn't have even cared about the extended versions).

That's why I have said since before they were announced that I was going to double dip. I like both cuts, I still watch both cuts. While I prefer watching the Extendeds, there is a time and place for both that I do enjoy. I just keep remembering, the theatricals are what I initially watched and fell in love with, and the theatricals are the versions that won what was it, 15 academy awards?

I have a feeling that Jackson was doing some politically correct tap dancing when he said the theatrical versions were his preferred versions, because saying otherwise would have meant that the hundreds of millions of people who saw the movies at the theater witnessed the inferior version.

I will spread it out over the following weekend. I have been adding some serious new gear to my set-up in anticipation for the release. Since the start of this year, I added my second subwoofer, new Paradigm speakers and today an Emotiva XPA-3 amp. Add in the projector I got in October, and my buttkicker, and I am about ready to sit back an enjoy the most incredible theatrical experience of my life!

Not the biggest fan of the other 2 main female stars, Blanchett or the bird who played Eowyn. Will admit Blanchett turned in quite a good and slightly chilling performance as the Elvish Queen of the wood, though.

I hate to be pedantic, but it was 17 academy awards! And both Fellowship ant RotK won Best Picture at BAFTA, which is also mighty important!

Just so you know, I had to look up what pedantic means you took a whole 30 seconds out of my day...

And I couldn't remember the actual number, I didn't look it up, I was just going by what my less than stellar (and by this I mean pretty bad) memory would serve. I was just trying to convey my thoughts. But yes, I agree with you, 17 is better than 15, so being a little PEDANTIC every now and then is okay.
