I own Energys and I have heard Paradigms, Def Tech, klipsch, Polk and many other speakers as well.

Polks are nice, but they don't do anything for me personally, their RTi and TSi are just not my taste.

Def Tech are nice, if you want bi-pole speakers they are great and have a very good way of filling a room with sound.

Klipsch are loud, not my style whats so ever, however I respect those that like them for themselves. To me the Horns just project the highs of the tweeters in a way that I am not into.

Energy and Paradigm make somewhat similar speakers, I think in a popularity contest Paradigm will have the bigger name and you will have more people VOTE for them. HOWEVER, having heard each of them, both are great with music and HT, along with PSB, all three speakers companies had utilized the NRC in Canada for acoustic and hearing research. Paradigm and PSB are a little more forward sounding IMO, and the Energys are a little more laidback. However the Energy Connosiuers are similar to the Paradigm Monitors and PSB Image, the Energy RC are similar to the Paradigm Studios and the PSB Imagine.

Then you have say the British Monitors.... those would be the B&W, Monitor Audios, KEF, they are nice speakers too, B&W and MA are similar in sound and dynamics, they can be a touch bright, but not like Klipsch in anyway. Kef speakers are something of their own, but can be nice also.

There is also the Danish speakers like Dali, Dynaudio and Jamo. I think that Dali and Dynaudio are probably the best of the best in my opinion. Jamos are nice too, but I think they are about in the line of the Energy Connosiuers, PSB Image, Paradigm Monitors.

Deeman, You really need to go listen to a lot of speakers and find what you prefer the most.

I am sure that if you go onto some of the websites of some of the companies your interested in you will find that there are dealers that you don't know about within 1 hr of where you live.

I know that I like Linear speakers that have a warm and laidback approach to their sound, accurate highs, deep open and detailed mid-range, and last, important but not critical for me is the low-end, I like a good low end, but I don't need a sub sound from my towers, but if the lower mid-range and upper low-end are accurate and tight, I am happy.

Dali, Energy, Dynaudio are some of what i find to be favorites for my taste, then I like Paradigm, PSB, MAs, B&W next on my list. After that speakers like Klipsch and Polk are at the bottom of my list of speakers that would personally buy. So you can see that everyone has to develop their own tastes.

Good luck, on your list, Energy and Paradigm would be my 1-2.... in that order.
