I guess Tom Waits could do an ok job as the voice of Smaug if he veers away from being a Louis Armstrong disciple. Very difficult to do this voice justice.

Brian Cox did great voice acting in Killzone 2, especially his intro monologue. His voice really carries weight to it. I'd like to hear Tom Waits giving a powerful performance with this too.

I'm just curious as to whether you meant the flying kind or these

That's fine. Glad you'll give these a shot because they are different than the other 3 and of course Guillermo is directing

With the new director and the lighter "feel" of the Hobbit, they are bound to have more of a fun element to them.

I dunno while the Hellboys felt light, El Laberinto del Fauno had a decidedly dark tone to the entire film, something we may see repeated in the Hobbit. I do think soundtrack fans are in for a treat, Jacksona and del Toro should be able to find a very good composer to make a rocking score.

I wonder if Howard Shore will be involved? He did a superb job with LoTR.

Definitely but the first will be a very short teaser, I'm sure. It will still be exciting though.

Any trailer for Hobbit needs to include Bilbo acting like a bumbling younger version of the LoTR character and Mithrandir doing something unbelievably cool, hopefully involving both his sword and his wand.

I thought the dragon in Dragonslayer was awesome. Smaug should be even better.

The bull dragon in Reign of Fire is my favorite movie dragon, I thought it looked incredible (especially for its time/budget).

Check this trailer out.

Here's professor himself. And unless I miss my guess, that is Judy Dench narrating.

I think the dragon will be done in a similar fashion to Smeagol/Gollum, as in an actor will put on a motion suit and then the CGI will imitate the actor.

I think Mo-Cap for the face, but not the whole dragon.
A dragon shouldn't move like a human, not when they have limbs and organs that a human does not have.
