Here's my prediction: when the CPU gets down to 45nm the PS3 will feature a 4x -read Blu-ray drive for faster load times. (At that point the extra noise and heat from a faster spin rate will be tolerable since the rest of the components will be cooler.)

Am I right in thinking that the PSP-2001 has faster load times than the 1001 due to an improved UMD drive, or is that due to a bigger cache or something else?

Double the internal memory.

PSP 1000 = 32MB

PSP 2000 = 64MB
