Default Where are the damn special features?

Can somebody please tell why I pay and extra $10-$20 for a Blu-Ray movies and some discs don't even come with special features, in fact half of my collection do not have the special features their DVD counterparts do. The best thing about DVD's when they first came out was the bonus features!. These discs hold up to 50GB, how can they not include these special features and charge what they do?, you'd think you would get even more features considering the price and massive storage space on the discs. I just bought the Spiderman trilogy, and guess what? for $70, Sony could not give me special features on SM 1 & SM 2!. Seriousley, can someone explain this?, because it makes me mad considering the picture quality of most of these discs are only slightly better than DVD.

My list of BD without the special features of their counterparts:

Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Full Metal Jacket
The Usual Suspects
Saw I
Christmas Vacation
Spiderman 1
Spiderman 2

Because the picture is $10-$20 better than a DVD. What, are you buying the movie or the special features anyways?

My question is how do you have Spiderman 1 & 2 and not 3 and the only way you can get them is in the boxset.

This is pretty standard practice . . . Indiana Jones still isn't available in single-disc versions, and the original Star Wars trilogy wasn't available as singles for quite some time after its release. For 20 bucks apiece, I ain't complainin'.

And what type of TV, playback unit, cable connection do you have? If it's not at least 40" 720p (minimum) HDTV, updated firmware, HDMI cable answer, then it's not the Blu-ray that is the problem. It's the equipment that you are using. Also, for a first time poster, this arguement sounds like something the HD DVD camp has been arguing about this whole time. I'm not saying that you are a troll, but it is getting awfully close to the edge of the cliff. Especially considering the emotion implied by your response.

Trust me, the picture quality is definitely NOT "only slightly better than DVD" when viewed in the proper environment. Everyone on this site clearly sees a difference and loves what they see. One persons opinion on picture quality won't take that away from any of our enjoyment of the Spiderman trilogy in 1080p (BD) vs 480i (DVD).

He stated that he bought the trilogy, but he is complaining about the lack of extras on the first two in the series.

Why didnt you check to see if they were included before you 'wasted' your money?

I'm a movie viewer, never really been a fan of extras. So everything is good in my house. Just saying though, if I was a fan, I would research what would have been included int he movies, realized they were just trying to get product out on the shelf that some people (non extra watchers like myself) would have been fine with, NOT bought the movie, and waited a year or two for a 'bigger' release.

Get a 107 inch screen and a 1080p video projector and dare to come back saying it look slightly better than DVD. Even with a 720p, at that size the difference is HUGE

yup. I am projecting on about 130" screen, what a difference BR makes. But on a screen less than 42" not that much especially if I run thru a good scaler.

Since you have already double dipped to buy the blu ray on top of your dvds on these listed movies (im assuming you have, or at least rented them.):

If you want to watch the special features, just pop in the regular DVD!!! that simple. There really is no need for a rant here. Expecially when its your first post. You will get alot of shit... FYI

i thought 1&2 would have PCM audio but they don't which is like ??? but whatever and $70 is how much it is up in Canada before taxes _- damn con-artists

another note the Futureshop i went to here had a big Transformers display right when you come turn the corner into the store thats what you see first, and then the Spiderman table is next to it, but u wouldnt know its the spiderman table until you walked up to it since the boxes are laid flat.

Not only that but their forum mods seem to be hddvd lenient as they say its "biologically impossible for humans to tell the difference between bluray/hddvd" which is weird since they have more blurays in the store and bestbuy owns them and they seem to lean towards blu
