I believe Vanns has the Klipsch Synergy B-3 speakers for $179 shipped/pair. You could get 2 pairs of those and add a Synergy C-1 for $79 shipped. Then get an ED A2-300. You'd have a nice sounding system for like $850. That is if you like the Klipsch sound.
