The last I read about it most people agreed it didn't make any difference because it only affected about 8 seconds of the movie.

I havent heard anything yet. When I contacted Disney a little while ago (to check on my 5 free BD offer, I asked them about this also) they said, "They were looking into the issue and will notify me when they come up with a solution" They took down my name, phone number and address and told me that when something came up they would notify me and let me know the way to get the issue resolved.

Now back to the posts that you have made. You are a new member. No need to give us flak for not responding right away. There are search buttons to look up this issue as it has been brought up before.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you have a legit concern but lets not get too hasty too quick next time. Sound good?

Believe me, if nobody mentioned it or nobody pointed it out to you, you wouldnt notice it coz I have watched it 5 times and never noticed it.

i didnt notice it until it was a thread on this website either. I still watch it and dont notice it. Its not a big deal at all. However if they were to offer a replacement disc free of charge, I would take it.

I didn't watch the movie when I bought it. But believe me... This I would notice. I find it funny that people agree to this. OK, let them make the same mistakes all over again and get away with it. It only cost me €28 for the Blu-ray... If I buy something I want it to be perfect.

Considering the director supervised the transfer I highly doubt this was an error. If it was, there would have been a recall by now.

There was a post a long time ago by one of the mod's, Deci I believe, who set it out nicely as why this probably wasn't an error. But thanks for dredging this old chestnut up again.

Perhaps Sony should do a recall too over their "botched" BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA transfer as well?

Thx in advance and sorry for my bad English.
What bad English?

Have you seen some of the posts here from native speakers? Some are downright unintelligible.

As a new poster, welcome. This has been discussed till we're "blu" in the face. Doing a search might help also before posting a question.

Maybe using a different subject line like 'Any update on the POTC framing issue' would be better.

"Someone with enough clout demanded they fix it anyway" says the poster in the linked HTF discussion.

That's an interesting development.

I'm not saying the transfer looks shit or is inferior. It's just that it's cool to think they are fighting way up high and now you see there like only one meter of the ground. That takes me out of the magic of the film. I haven't watched it because I watched 1 and 2 right before the third one came out on dvd. When the third one arrives in stores i'm gonna watch them again.

I just think it sucks. I love Blu-ray to and hate it when some people make it look bad, but if we let Buena Vista get away with this it can happen again in the future and then it could be even worse.

@plee: Thx and sorry. Being new to the forum I haven't had the time to check all things out. I just wanted an answer because this really bugs me.

I think I would watch it first before I would trash the quality of the film. I've got no problems with mine.

Seriously....if you screen an audience of 500 people with the movie and then asked if anyone saw any problems with it there would maybe be 1-2 people that would notice this problem....the rest would enjoy the movie and not notice at all...hell there was nobody here complaining about it until some HD DVD fanboy mentioned it and then it was an issue for like 2 weeks and then hasnt been mention since.

I dont care if they rerealese it or not, I love the movie the way it is and have watched in many times, not once have I said "damn, disney ****ed this one up. I want my $23 back right now!"

Perhaps they'll provide a fix for the framing when/if they release a POTC box set? Hopefully this will be soon.

Default pirates 1

Thanks for the info. I have just purchased a Sony Bluray player and the first movie I bought was pirates 3. I have been holding of getting the other two due to the framing issues but your post has convinced me it is only a minor problem so I will get them both now.

The framing issue was only on the first film.
