Well a remaster would make it better (Mpeg-2 vs AVC or VC-1 to begin). But yeah I don't find there to be anything wrong with the current blu. I think it looks great minus a few darkly lit scenes. Much better that the ealry 90's VHS I had lol.

Anyways there is always room for a fools hope of a worthwhile remaster;

So, at first I was hopeful for a release of this Special Edition of Predator. Since it will be available in Russia, UK and Canada. But so far, nothing for the USA. The reason I'm worried is because I'm looking at films like the Blade series.

They've been released in other countries and even Canada, but not USA. So in all honesty, what are the REAl chances this version ever sees a release in the USA?

Predators doesn't even hit theaters until July 9. That's still over 2 months away. There is plenty of time for Fox to make an announcement of a US release.

But it an Arnold movie it cant be boring. I am a big Arnold fan so my opinion is bias.

I was going to say it might be only because 80's babies can relate. Can't be nostalgia, though, because Predator still kicks my ass to this day. Nobody makes movies this original anymore. It's a classic. It's one of the few action flicks from the 80's that Arnie starred in that he played his role somewhat "seriously", if you catch my meaning. He had a couple of his signature one-liners, but that final showdown in the jungle at night HAS to be one of the most thrilling last acts in all of cinema.

True, there wasn't a whole lot of action (in the traditional sense). Probably because the Predator is such an efficient killing machine that any semblence of action was squelched after he had his target pegged. The majority of the destruction and explosions come before the mercs realize they're expendable.

I wouldn't pidgeon-hole this movie into the "action" genre, anyways. It's more of a Sci-Fi/Action/Horror/Suspense hybrid.

Very nicely put.

In my opinion, the creature-reveal was perfectly executed, and one of the best that I've ever experienced. The first time I saw Predator, I couldn't wait to get a glimpse of this one bad moffo knocking off these elite commandoes. That tension and anxiety built throughout the movie as each soldier was killed, culminating with the explosive, one-on-one showdown. Excellently done!

Looks like I'll be double dipping. Someone in the UK thread said some are reporting its been remastered....we'll see if this is true.
