Developers will get smarter at only doing the necessary extra rendering and rendering techniques will evolve not only to improve performance when 'doubled' but also believability of effects. According to Mark Cerny, large 2D particle effects like dense smoke clouds don't look right in S3D.
Off the top of my head Ridge Racer 7 and plenty of simpler PSN games like Critter Crunch are 1080p60, WipEout HD has a dynamic framebuffer between 1920x1080 and 1280x1080. |
