My LED RP is on its original bulb after 4 years, and I watch a lot more TV than I should.

Not bad for DLP with all the moving parts. I still love my a2000, WD HD CRT (It did died one time but got it fixed free), my LCD is ok but the hdmi port is broken on it & the 'blacks' SUCK.
My next 'tv' is going to be a Front projector (Sony VPL-VW60 AKA The Black Pearl) with a 90" screen & turn my 3rd bedroom into a dedicated HT room. |

Most reliable TV: Any TV that you buy at Best Buy and get the 4 year service warranty, with the option to renew it for another 4 years.
So basically I know I'll have my TV for another 7 years. And I also know that something will go very wrong with it by then and if they can't fix it you get the newest model. ![]() |

When OLED debuts in the States, that has a good chance of becoming the all-around best HDTV.

My first Plasma was a Panasonic which I have been using now for about 6 years. I used it everyday since and the picture is as good as the day I brought it home. So I guess I didn't need that REALLY expensive extended warranty after all.

DLP's are the worst as that "replacement bulbs" always comes up in conversation. Never get a DLP without extended warranty.
Most name brand plasmas and LCD's should last a long while, maybe even 10 years which is the basic life of most TV's. Those non-name brands are riskier. |

I am on my third DLP pj in eight years and never had a single problem with any of them other than replacing the lamp.
For BD movies and sports, I only use the pj, and now that you can get a 1080p DLP pj for 2500.00, I can't believe a lot more people don't consider one over any large flat panel. |
