If you think gasoline is expensive, go and try to buy some copper for your home plumbing. I used to piss and moan over the dreaded PVC pipe in my house, but no longer.

I remember reading a company got in trouble with the federal government for taking pennies and melting them to make copper products. A penny is worth more than 1cent now.
