100% electric cars. Expensive? Yes. Hot looking? Definately.

I believe they use all polycarbonite body construction which is lighter, and stronger than steel on impact.

Now, if they would stop catering to the super rich who can afford the gas prices and make cars for the average Joe.

I read about those. Seen them too. Not a fan. For the people they are catering to - it's more of a "look, my car is electric" - more of an awe value than a solution. They are on the right path, I just don't think electric cars are going to solve the problem. Your trading one problem - for another potential one. Not sure where you live, but we don't have a choice for a power company. We only have 1. They rape us every chance they get.

Hydrogen fuel cell is the future.

Talk about trading one problem for another. Don't fuel cells have to be swapped out when they die? Where does all this trash go? Plus, when you burn hydrogen you are creating steam. Sure, no big deal now. Years from now when virtually everyone are driving these things now the problem is with increased humidity in the atmosphere. How does this impact life in Arizona let alone wild life in general?

I just e-mailed Tesla and asked when we can see cars for the average Joe. I'd love to get my car refitted if I could get roughly the same milage from the car on a full charge as I do on a tank of gas.

Steam/Water vs C02/Carbon/Smog/Fog/Pollutants/Etc, etc. You decide. Hydrogen fuel cells are recyclable and last for quite a while. Batteries in your electric car - are just as bad as gasoline.

Hydrogen is green from start to finish. Use solar energy to provide the power needed to create the hydrogen. Green from the start, green in the end.

Except for the fact that water vapor is the biggest greenhouse gas.

More than ever, I think the public would embrace the electric car. The high cost of gas now demands its mass production.

Correct, but you can't just throw it out there like it is the cause of the problems we have now. It's not. It is the biggest greenhouse gas - but it is not to blame. Go read.

I've been doing my part for the environment by not exercising and watching BluRays instead-- that way I exhale less CO2

In what's known as a feed-back loop begun by CO2, it's water vapor that will potentially raise global temps. (World wide temps have actually gone Down ~0.7C [estimate] since 1998). It is said that we will be in a period of cooler temps to perhaps 2020.

Sadly, hydrogen is not an energy source like fossil fuel. It's more like a battery. It takes more energy to produce the hydrogen then what ever energy it gives back, as in powering a car. It is bound up with other elements such as oxygen as in water to form H2O - no free lunch here. Unless nuclear, wind, solar power is used to seperate the hydrogen, the end result could be more CO2, not less.

Cool pics. With premium now selling up to $4.69 a gallon here in Connecticut, I am seriously considering a scooter. How far can you go on an electric?

You don't keep up with current events very well. Hydrogen can be made with the most abundant fuel source there is - SOLAR. Hell, solar can run your entire house and charge an electric car. Problem is, it's not cheap yet. Hydrogen is the same way. If we can get these items mass marketed, cheap and readily available - it would solve the problem.

Unfortunately - the fine citizens of America are not yet done sucking on the teets of oil and gas. They don't want to change, yet only complain that it needs to come down.

Their big new showroom is right on the corner of where I work. I haven't gone in yet though, but it looks pretty sweet.
